Felt pretty good bout my odds at taking a doe this weekend but only had shots at small bucks. Now I'm after another ground hog. Have taken 3 out of the food plot this year and thought I had them all but was wrong. They live clover and turnips.

Going to be working on getting my wife a deer behind the house the next few days. I haven't been in the woods since I killed my doe mainly because I'm to temped to shoot a few small bucks if they walk my way haha. Heading to Kansas in a few weeks so want to save my point on a buck till then  what I kill behind the house would even add up to one side of what I plan to kill in Kansas so I guess you get my point lol

Haha. I'll shoot a doe for sure at some point. I can pretty well accomplish that at anytime. I just don't want to use one of my statewide tags on a doe right now. I have an extra antlerless tag but it's only good in certain counties. I just so happen to do most of my hunting in a county where it's not allowed to use an extra antlerless tag. I'll get us some points sooner or later.

Well I got some points for our team this morning. :rock:I got a 6 yard shot on a mature 160lb doe and saw where the arrow hit and new imediatly that is was a good hit and I heard her crash and die, My arrow took out lungs and 2 big slices through the heart.

Awesome! Now you've got a buck tag? Or do you have to shoot two does?

    Nice job Lady, congrats!!

I went out last Sunday for a morning sit hoping the cold would have them on there feet, had plans to hunt a stand close to a bedding area but the wind was being screwy when I got there so I decided to just hunt the same stand I shot the doe out of opening day. I have this coming weekend off, but there is a chance of rain and it is warming back up this week. If it doesn't rain I will at least get in an afternoon sit on Saturday, people I lease from are having a end of the year bonfire party, so figure I'll go hunt and then go to that, kind of kill 2 birds.....and hopefully a big buck.. Then starting the 30th I'm off for 8 days, then back to work for 4, then off for another 4, so hopefully with all that time off I can catch a buck on his feet....

Where Im hunting at the University Of Illinois owned Robert Allerton Park I only have to kill one doe so yes Im buck hunting now. Now if I want to hunt the ajoining IDNR Weldon Springs Piatt County Unit land I have to kill a doe before I can kill a buck on that property.

It looks like the scores have been updated. There are a lot of deer that haven't been entered due to missing info. So go ahead and double check to make sure that you have all the necessary information entered. If you have to add something make sure to PM Fitz and let him know when you add it. Thanks and good job so far everybody!
