Good luck to anybody hunting. I'm gonna work til 2am tonight and get ready and hit the woods when I get off. I'll be sitting on the downwind side of a bedding area in the morning.

think my work would raise their eyebrows if I can't work but can walk out into the woods on crutches to hunt? LOL! Maybe if I'm lucky and get rid of the crutches and get into physical therapy the 1st week of Nov. Just gotta take it easy and let it heal. Better to heal now longterm than to deal with this again later on.

holy crap! just looked at the scorecard. team 31 is blowing people off the charts. We definitely need to get some points in the BBD category.
Come on Lady Forge, I've seen some of your deer. Now would be a good time to get an equivalent to some of those others you've taken.

Hope I can get out in Nov before gun season kicks in. One good thing in my favor is I have 2 tracts of private land and one of them I'm the only one that hunts on it.

    I'm
We've got another 216 to add to our 100 on the scorecard. So it's not as bad as it looks right now.

Well the hunting for me this year has been really tough. Since I have to take a doe first and can only take 4 deer off this property I had decidded not to take a doe fawn. and I have let 2 doe fawns pass and I missed a doe. Im just not seeing much and havnt been able to get another mature doe in range. And the oldest buck Ive seen while in stand was a 10 point buck that I would pass on anyways since I dont feel he is mature yet. So I am really sucking this year ! ! ! SorryI havnt been of much help to the team so far but I know when god is ready he will send one my way. Right now I am just greateful that the lord is giving me the blessing of being able to hunt.

I'm about to rename my target buck from Mr Clean to "cat". I had him at 25 yards this morning and needed him to take one more step. Instead he turned and walked straight away. Thats #7 of his 9 lives. As soon as he left I had 3 more bucks come in, one being a 4.5 year old named cocoa puff. I was getting ready to draw on him and wouldn't you know it, the wind does a 180 and blows right to the bucks. Dammit!

Your not kidding, I was very underdressed this afternoon. Wind was blowing right through my first lite/under armour combo.

Getting settled in the stand about an hour before shooting light. Something walked by that I couldn't see, but my camera could. Now how do I get him back during shooting hours?

Well I'm all set up for a morning hunt. Would prefer a buck, but went ahead and bought a doe tag just in case one presents too good a shot to pass up. Temps down in the low 30s and pretty calm winds, hoping for an exciting day tomorrow. Last couple of years I have held out for some big boys I had on cams, this year I decided to not run cams and to take any buck I am happy with. 2 years with out a buck has dampened my spirits, I need to feel some bone....

well guys you won't believe this one. so just when I think I've had a hard enough time in life, I got diagnosed today with Shingles. Oh my word, I have not experienced such pain before. Man this really sux. It'll take about 1-2 weeks for it to subside. Till then it's pain pills and dealing with it.
Man what any absolutely perfect evening out here. Quiet and still, lows in the upper 30s. Driving me nuts. I can hear the tractors nearby harvesting corn. What a beautiful fall day. Soon as I'm better I'm going to hit it hard and try to contribute to the team.

RugerRedbone, good to hear about the 216. where did the all the points come from?

    Good luck to everyone.

The shingles suck! I had them 3-4 years ago and still have some nerve pain/damage from it. I feel for you!

Well I was expecting to see quite a bit of movement this morning but was dead wrong about it. I only saw 3 does and they all got free passes. If I don't kill a doe at one of our other farms in the next week or so I will probably just wait until after the rut to shoot one.
