Got out this morning. Saw a couple of yearling bucks and a doe. All too small to be shooters.
    Good Luck and safe hunting.

Antlerless rifle hunt weekend in Arkansas. My luck if I took my rifle I'd have a shooter buck in bow range. I'll be out with my bow just in case.

I normally take a doe as soon as season opens, thought I would change up this year and wait for a good buck. Now I want some backstraps).

Let me start off by saying that I didn't kill anything. But I saw damn near every buck on my list tonight. I had my top 2 bucks at 45 yards as they browsed around the staging area. I just never had a clean shot. And for some stupid reason I passed on a buck I had never seen. He was a 135-140 inch 10 pointer with some stickers coming off his based. He came trotting past and I just wasn't sure how old he was. As he walked away I realized he was mature and Should've killed him at 17 yards. I ended up having a coyote scare them off as he was chasing a rabbit by my stand. I actually heard him catch the rabbit and listened to him eating it afterwards about 30 yards away. Just couldn't get a shot at him. So all in all I ended up seeing two 5.5 year olds, three bucks at least 4.5, and another couple I think we're 3.5, but not sure. It was pretty amazing. And I got to share it all with my brother. Definitely one of my best hunts ever.

Ive been busy at work and dealing with a poacher Where my husband and I bowhunt. As to not jeoperdize the case all I can say is criminals aint to smart... especially when I have trail camera photos of them as proof. So its straight to jail and do not collect $20, 000 dollars for them THE CPO caught them. and I will be helping them to gather more evidence in my trail camera location tomorrow after my morning hunt.
Whats really funny is they had denied they had ever been there before until the Conservation police officer showed them my trailcam photo of one of them which proved the last time they were there and then I guess they got honest and started admitting everything and gave up all the other poached goods they had at their home.
So I am way more weary in the woods now, and will keep my bow and knife ready at all times now... to many freaks and weirdos and criminals in the park to be complacient and comfortable there like I have been in the past for many years... what a shame :busted:

Glad you caught them! In Arkansas, if you have a CCP you can carry a handgun while bow hunting. Makes me feel safer.

I had two does and a fawn come out about 45 minutes before dark. I ranged them at 42 yds and was fixing to shoot when the biggest does started heading closer. She stepped into the thick stuff. I had one shooting lane at 23 yds which she trotted through followed by the fawn. The other doe pretty much followed the same path but stopped in my lane but it was 5 minutes after legal light.

I had a pretty slow hunt last night. The wind was swirling really bad and I didn't see much. My wife had a great hunt as she had 8 bucks and 15 does come to our food plot. Nothing was close enough. There was only one buck right at dark that was 4.5 and he was never close enough.

wow Jake that's awesome! sounds like all of you are really getting to see some deer now.
My ankle is getting a little bit better. Hoping and praying that I'm good by the end of the month. It'll get to a point where I'll wrap my boot up in a garbage bag and gimp out to a blind and sit in that if push comes to shove.
Man! the weather here is has probably been the best Oct weather I can remember in a long time. Been dry every day, 60s day 50s night. Dang I'm going crazy!
Good luck to everyone out there. and Jake if see that buck again put some points on the board! lol!

We are definitely having some good hunts and seeing the bucks we have a lot of history with. I just want the buck I call Mr clean really bad. Having him at 45 yards with no shot was really tough. My plan pretty much worked to perfection but a damn coyote ruined it. Its a really good feeling knowing that all the work I've done was enough and I had him beat. That's actually the 6th time (including last year) I've had him within 60 yards and haven't once been able to kill him.

Hahaha. Yeah I love it. But I would also love it if I could put an arrow in Mr. Clean. Maybe it'll happen if we have another encounter. His luck has to run out sometime. If I were anywhere else, I wouldn't have to worry about shooting him this season because I would've killed that 10 pointer that came by afterwards.

Put me down for 50!! Friday evening I took this big 145lbs doe around 6pm sorry I'm late posting but its been a busy weekend. She came out with a few smaller does and came right in at 20 yards. Doubled lunged her and she only went maybe 60 yards and that was it. Before I left home my little 2 year old gave me his tractor for good luck so hey I guess it worked out lol It was a blessed hunt!! doe1.jpg doe2.jpg
