got my cameras up and trimmed some shooting lanes. Maybe next week I can get out. the only problem is that my back is acting up so we'll see if i can get out. I ran into the farmer that leases the land. I got him to leave up a section of soybeans for the season by one of my stands. That'll at least be a good late season stand. Anyone seeing anything yet? I've got some good sign that deer are on my property.
weather is starting to look good for evening hunts. supposed to go down into the high forty's at night. hoping to whack a doe early and get some points on the board and meat in the freezer.
Momma and two little ones this morning, they get a pass. Time to take the long hike this evening to the far back stand. Be safe folks. Dave
Saw two doe and 3 little ones this evening, to early in the season to be busting a doe with fawns. No Sunday hunting so I will be back at it next week. Dave
almost lost me today. a great friend ask me to show him where I use to hunt today. so we went out and I showed him my old spot. he hang the camera up and we walk out to the other edge of the field (old habits die hard) I told I don't see much deer here! so as we enter out of the woods we look down the corn edge had guess what we saw and it saw us toooooo!!!!! the biggest freak'n bear about 100yds away and it started to chase us after about 50 yds . I ran like a bat out of hell! all I was thinking about is being fast then the other guy. when we both got back to my friends jeep my friend told me I looked like a deer running and jumping over logs and fallen trees. ( I did track then in school) thank god we both got back home safe.
oh crap! I always carry a sidearm in the woods up north where we are on menu plan for bears/wolves. damn good thing you can run!

Alright fellas I made it back from Idaho and am ready to kill some deer. Did a cam check earlier and have all the shooters showing up in daylight. I am gonna give it a go tomorrow evening. And congrats on the doe Ruger.
I'm gonna try tomorrow night. gonna get all set up tonight, clothes washed, sighted in bow with new arrows, pack up back pack, deer cart in truck. Good luck to anyone else going out in the next few days.
