Covey, that makes sense. I really hope it comes true. Especially since they are saying we are supposed to have a bad winter. I am sure the animals can sense that and are preparing.

    Great looking deer, Scoot!

I get to hunt both MO and KS and both open September 15th...my birthday is September 27th, would be nice if a good cold front moved in for my birthday and let me get a couple days of hunting in on my B-day! I generally wait until the weather cools off before I do much hunting. Used to open a month later and that seemed about right to me temp wise.

Don't forget to take two pictures of your deer. Also, make sure you take a doe. It is an extra 50 points for each person, and that can add up quickly.

He's right if we all get a doe that's 600 team points just in doe's. I know I'm not going to change my hunting for the comp and wouldn't expect anyone else to either, but I go for a doe to fill the freezer normally anyway.

I think does are the key to base a serious run at a win on with this contest. It's like the first hurdle to clear to have any chance at all. Another is actually making the deer taken, count in the contest...making stupid mistakes that end up discounting an entry because of lack of a pic or data is just unacceptable. Team mates and staff will help confirm scoring and taking a couple of pics is simple enough as well as posting the relevant data. Being lazy and not having one buck submitted correctly is just a killer. No one can recover that lost opportunity.

So I 100% agree with you, how about if when we take a deer that we type up exactly what we are going to submit, including photos and send it to the team Capt. to ensure that it is going to be counted and that we don't forget anything. That way he can proof read it and make sure it's gonna count before it is submitted? Just a thought
