I went out yesterday morning and saw 11 does...nothing within 40 yards though. I walked the property and found 2 more stand sites for next year. Heck, I even tried a spot and stalk on 3 doe fawns. That lasted about 30 seconds...

Every time I see you post I always hope you are posting to say that you connected finally. Not for the points but because you have hunted hard this year.

I've put in about 125 hours this season. I passed up some deer early on that I probably shouldn't have. It's been a blast though!

Yeah me too though I didnt put in near that much stand time. I should have taken that big eight point way back there.

Switching jobs I did not get nearly as much time in a tree as I wanted. No where near 125 hours that's for sure. Both deer I shot being on stand less than hour (doe in the AM, buck mid-afternoon). I hunted more than just those two days but not as much as I planned before the new gig. You and Covey both had some cool encounters and to me that would be enough to make an awesome season.

I'm okay with my season I guess, I enjoyed what time I spent out there and that's what it's all about. I'm just sorry I didn't connect with a buck and push our team over the top on score. On the bright side, most of our top bucks survived all the seasons. We've had maybe four that are MIA, who knows what their fate has been. A few new ones have shown up also, some of which are pretty impressive.

Here's a recent pic of Crossbow...now that he's showed back up, lol.

Here he is running, once again...with the nice eight point I passed two, five yard shots at.
Crossbow is the one under the feeder.

A couple of new bucks that showed up on the same farm recently:

I made it out yesterday and got skunked again. I had 1200 pics since Wednesday (over corn), but the wind had em hunkered down all day. I'm hoping for a couple rain days at work this week...last week of season.

I saw that on facebook. I had planned to go for a walk yesterday to look for sheds (some guys are finding them around here too) but we are pretty much snowed in here.

Skunked again. I might be done hunting for the contest. We still have this weekend, but that won't count for team points. Sorry I couldn't contribute!

Has everybody checked to make sure your entries are officially entered?

Don't apologize man. We said all along the contest was just for fun and it has been.

I know both of mine are entered.

Like Coop said, no need to apologize, you put in a ton of hours and really worked hard to get something, sometimes that's just the way a season goes....we've all had years like that! I had a ton of fun with this, thanks to all of you for making this a great season!

I checked and my entry is official.

At least you didn't kill anything with a gun instead. I felt terrible it wasn't with a bow - but it would have never presented close enough for a shot. This is all for fun, no need to appologize. I didn't count for any points, either.

Huh, well in that case, as our captain you should have least killed something to contribute...LOL.
