Ha, sweet! Thanks for letting him walk, you may be very happy to see him again next year if he makes it.

He's still the biggest bodied deer I've seen from a stand, but I think 3.5 is a solid guess. His spindly antlers are wider than his body.

At least you are seeing some bucks. You'll see some shooters soon I bet. Bummer about your truck.

I don't have a vehicle, so I'm stuck at home looking at new trail cam pics. Bummer!

I can relate Josh! Though I have my jeep - it's just a bit messed up, lol.

That last deer is great! The first one looks like one we have around here. When will you get your truck/or a vehicle back?

I should have it back today. $600 fuel pump and filter. There goes my full body mount...

Ugh, yeah. That definately is not fun. Those things are never cheap - though thankfully a quick fix. Bummer about your mount. But, if your taxidermist is anything like mine - you will have almost a year to get the full amount (sarcasm!) - we always put some money down - but then we have to wait almost a year to get it finished. It kind of worked in our favor this year with the new house. I have a spring bearded hen and a pheasant there as we speak.

I don't really want a full body mount, but my dad did offer to pay for one if I shot the double drop tine monster. All my trophies have to fit in a 12x8 room, so I see lots of euro mounts in my future. My taxidermist also took 7 months to put a skull plate on a plaque.

What an awesome dad to offer that. Though, I'm sure it must be a pretty special buck for that to come about. Does he hunt, too?

Seven months for a skull mount?! That is a little crazy. But, I'm sure it got put on a back burner for better paying pieces.

He does, but lives in AZ. He's trying to arrange an Ohio/PA hunt next year.

Oh, I didn't post the pic of this buck "because it's so grainy"...

    Aaaaaaaaggghh!
That's about all I can say about last night. I put my wife in one of my very best stands. She had an awesome hunt...a small busted up 8pt came in to a crabapple tree and got ran off by a buck we named pretty boy. He gave my wife a shot at 25 yards. She hit him....but really high. He piled off into a beaver swamp right at dark. I tracked him at first light.....big splashes of bright red blood for 100 yards...then smaller patches...then dime sized spots....then tiny drops every 15 yards. Finally he was just walking normally...never bedded down. I'm pretty sure he's not dead. I didn't find the arrow though. My wife is pretty upset...biggest buck she has shot at

Oh no! Any chance he may have just walked off then died - off from where you looked? I see people posting about dogs - is that an option, or you pretty sure he lived?

What a bummer for you all. This is why I wont give up my spot to my husband - you just never know!

ETA; I just went through scores and our team - only four of us haven't got anything yet. That is a great percentage compared to what other teams look like.

I'm pretty sure he's alive....My hope is that he lays low for a few days but eventually comes back

Hopefully. Do you have cameras out to hopefully catch his whereabouts?

Yea I have cameras out. I also asked the neighbor to keep a look out for him if he happens to find him in his woods
