Pretty windy out. Getting a storm around 630. I came out early in hopes to see one before they bed down. Don't know if it'll happen.
Wow, that was a job but I got her all de-boned and in the fridge! Woohoo! Have to go bury the carcass, will post the pics this evening on the score card.
Congrats bobcat! I saw that on the scorecard but was waiting to see if you posted here. Good job, meat is meat .
Yes she was. I didn't weigh her but she was big and mature. I removed her jaw for aging (as per management rules) and her teeth were ground down to an incredibly short length and she was missing one right in the middle of her jaw. I think she was probably 6 or 7 years old. She wasn't old enough to be mis-shapen or saggy but she did have some loose skin on her neck and those teeth..omgosh. It'll be interesting to get the results back on the teeth. She looked like she'd had fawns this year, she was dry but still looked pretty vigorous from the season. There were no fawns with her or following her so that turned out well. I'm happy, she filled a large trash bag with meat and that's what it's all about. I almost feel bad to kill such a pretty animal but they are way too thick and the meat is my favorite table fare.
Nothing in sight tonight. Ugh. Makes for a long night when you see nothing. Had an impatient night, too. Couldn't sit still. Drove towards home, not even ten yards off the road stands a buck...broadside. Didn't move for at least three minutes while I tried to get a picture (too dark). That's frustration at it's finest for me. Congrats of the nice big doe! My freezer is empty, need to get something, soon! No biggie bobcat, like everyone said points for us...meat for your freezer.
Finally back on stand this morning. A little rain but shouldn't be too bad hoping to see something and get a shot off. I'll keep you guys updated.
Rainy and windy here in SW Pa. Passed up a big doe twenty minutes ago. I still have a freezer full from my Ohio doe.
Good luck everyone. I'm on vacation this morning after yesterday's harvest and process cram. I don't really want two days in a row of that action.
I too am in the stand and received a little surprise when the sun came up. The land owner, without me knowing, mowed a path through the thicket that I am hunting off of. I don't know how this is going to play out but all I can do is hope for the best!! Good luck to everyone out there today!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This is where the doe was, right at that orange tree. I was really hoping a buck was behind her because she wasn't with other does lol. I actually just climbed down because it is raining VERY hard and so windy I felt like a flag up there. Good luck folks!
So Tim got one last weekend so my turn. Saw 3 little bucks this am and a few does. Only small bucks were in range of course. Feels so good to be hunting!
Good luck everyone! Raining and quite windy here. Didn't go out this am...not looking good this evening either. But did see a new buck rub behind the house! Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
I'm out of town for our baby shower. Unless we get one with the car, my chances for success aren't looking good today. Good luck out there guys!
