Haha well I'm just glad I warned you before you processed it! Nice deer too! That's put us really close to first place!
Congrats Scooter! Hopefully you got those pictures with your bow in it! I'm hoping to add points whenever I can get out again! We're getting does out of the place - need to start adding some bucks!
I think we're in like 6 or 7, only because of bucks on others. I have a little scorecard thing that I'm keeping track of (they're not "official" per the contest just whatever is posted on that thread). We do have 250 - just does. That is GREAT! It's still so early. But I think we got one heck of a team!
I saw my number one hit list buck last night....a legitimate booner.....2 edged sword though....after i saw him 400 yards away i had 2 different 130 class bucks come by at 30 yards..i passed them both...which was tough...but i only get 1
Ohhh. That would be tough! Unfortunately my hubby did that last year in IL (7 day bow) and never got a chance to get the booner he saw. Come to find out - it was poached in the middle of the night! But sounds like you have some nice deer running around - and plenty of time to get one! Best of luck!
Congrats Scooter, nice job! That really makes me want to get back out in a stand, been 2 weeks since I've been out, and will be another 2 weeks before I can get out again. After that though, I'll be in the woods quite a bit waiting for something to offer me a good shot!
Have an older neighbor next door (just turned 80) - he's really big into hunting. Was all excited he got his license for NY - so he'll be hunting two states this year. He said he was at the Vets Club and someone told him a 16 point was killed just out of our town. I think we're going to have some big boys this year!
I had bicep surgery last year (ruptured the tendon at my elbow in an off-road motorcycle accident) and it has been acting up a lot lately and I can't draw my bow without much pain. I shot my friends 58# Insanity and it felt good so I am selling my 70# Experience and bought a 50-60# RPM 360. It should be here tomorrow so I should be back up by Saturday hopefully. I hate the idea of setting up a bow in season but it's either that or play camera man for my buddy's the rest of the year. I'll set up a new bow, thanks, LOL.
Oh Coop, how yucky (The elbow). Luckily there was another option other than not hunting! 50-60# is still plenty to get it done right then and there. Heck, I only pull 40#! Not hunting today - tomorrow afternoon/evening. I am impatiently waiting. I am dreaming at night of bucks, hoping that's a good sign!
Haha yeah my wife says I have deer on the brain this year. It's worse than it has been in a long time. I plan to set it at 55#. I should have dropped down earlier this year but was trying to avoid spending money on a bow. I have a nice 70# 2013 Experience cheap ($500) if anybody is looking.
