Seen nothing this morning. It was way to foggy, really really cold, and it was raining. Not exactly the best weather for deer hunting, but at least I was able to see God's awesome creation. Hope you guys have better luck than me.
Was very foggy here this morning. Seems to be the thing this fall. Good luck this evening if you go out! I keep checking for updates!
We're working a half day tomorrow, so I'll be hitting the woods for another afternoon. Headed back to the doe hang out. I might put up another stand in the rain on Friday...just thinking aloud. And I (we) have an 8 hour birthing class on Saturday!
I'm headed to a stand for the first time in about an hour....hopefully my wife gets a shot at a doe....the field we will be hunting we scouted a week ago and saw 75 deer in the field....her stand is right in the middle of where they were....i will be 500 yards away sitting by a pond
Have any luck booner? My friend pulled the card on the old camera we had out where I hunted the first day of the early Pa season and got skunked. Sorry for the quality of the pics.
I am heading out Sunday for a few hours with my boy. He is only 5 and this is his first time out. I don't expect to see anything, but I will be happy if I spend half as much time in the blind as I do walking to it and back, ha!
Husband got this picture via text. Granted he is 11/12 hours away, so it may not be true, but he's being told this was up by our bow hunting land... Got hit by a car. I'm not too sure I believe it, but if it's true....dangggg.
I know i said i wasn't going to shoot a doe early.....but......i shot 2 tonight! WUT!......i saw over 40 deer! I couldn't stand it...i passed up shots at 5 before i shot the 2...incredible night...didn't see one buck though....I'll post pics and story tomorrow
She saw a dozen or so...had a shot at 40 yards...but it was a little too far for her to be comfortable
I hunted a new farm for the first time....the property is a 250 acre corn field with no woods....which doesn't sound conducive to bowhunting....but there is a tremendous block of timber and swamp on the north border of the property...and a big block of timber on the south end....both neighboring properties have a reputation for producing huge bucks....i see it as i get to hunt a 250 acre food plot. My stand is on a fencerow next to an irrigation pond. Deer poured out of the timber to the north 1000 yards away. Almost every deer i saw headed my direction. I got busted by a big doe really really as i was getting set up....i was bummed. Then the parade started. Group after group of does filed out of the timber across the field. Finally i couldn't take it anymore.....i shot the lead doe of a group of 5.at.22yards....then 5 minutes later another group came by at 25..i shot the biggest in that group too...i watched both fall in the field
Indianas antlerless tags are per county. I hunt farms in 3 counties...they have quotas of 8, 8, and 5 antlerless deer....so i can shoot 21 does and one buck....
