Nice shooting! I am looking forward to the cooler temps for Pa's regular archery opener. Supposed to be a low of 39 where I will be hunting. May be a decent morning.
Oh coop, I'm not looking forward to that! I just looked up our low...52...that's not terrible, thankfully.
I didn't see squat tonight. Pulled my cam card to find a group of people drinking and smoking under my stand. That explains a lot! Oh, and "Triple H" was back 3 days ago.
The property owners had a family reunion there on Saturday. Apparently, my setup, 150 yards from the house, was the best place for these 5 individuals to hang out all day. I'm going to avoid this spot for a couple weeks to let things settle down a bit.
Bummer about the party'ers. There are few next to the farm I hunt that the one neighbor said has been pretty upset my friend posted his land. They were having a party in the trailer down the road Friday night; up all night, loud music, loud noise, fireworks, etc. I keep waiting for them to show up on our cameras, but so far so good.
Ugh, how crappy! I know it is their property - but sheesh. People need to learn it is hunting season! Do you have back up spots?
That makes it a bit better...but I'd still be upset only because you never know how often they're back there.
Ohh yeah...im ready. Honestly i doubt I'll shoot a doe before December. I have a spot that's a slam dunk for does and i like shooting them when it's cold so i can hang them for a few days
Dude u can't believe how pumped I am too! Got all my gear ready and prepared to shoot a big 10 on our property! Will be self filming myself the whole season, so I'll see how that goes.
It's supposed to rain and cool off here after Tuesday, I'll probably begin getting more serious about hunting when overnight temps start getting in the 40's.
Yeah rain here this week too and a chance for Saturday. It is supposed to be 3 degrees warmer, they raised the low from 39 to 42. But that is still better than a low of 55 like last Saturday haha.
Season opens Saturday. Husband may have to work this weekend 12 hours away. Which, normally isn't a problem because his Grandfather hunts on the same property. But, Grandpa is hunting somewhere else with other Grandkids. If he doesn't come home - it means I have to go to this place by myself - which I really do not like to do (Especially since property owner/tenants don't know me). I can go behind my house - there is a small buck and a couple doe that pass through, but that's about it. I could go out back in the morning and to this other place in the evening - but I don't know. I hate having noone to hunt with!
I just had a 135" 9 point run by at 30 yards...at work. He took off across 400 yards of beans. Pretty cool!
It's a shame you are on the wrong side of the state, we always have room and would have gladly helped you out the first day.
I appreciate the thought! Thanks. Good luck those that are going out tomorrow! Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk
