I am headed to SD at 11 am today! Can't wait to get out there! The ranch owner called and said most of their snow melted yesterday and if I want to shed hunt the ravine behind the lodge I will have a chance at some mule deer sheds! That might happen on Sunday depending on how Saturday goes!!
Good luck! Looking at the forecast, I'll be surprised if we get our burning in Sunday either....this is freaking ridiculous. I need to get it done for more than just shed hunting.
Lol, that'd be fun, wish I could. Part of our burn area can be shed hunted without a burn but I'll be covering it while burning so I kinda hate to go over it twice.
I'm pretty sure mule deer sheds count but we would be fine taking a week off, it's not like we have any competition.

I got in a good walk yesterday, hit one of my best bedding areas, and not one single flippin bone. NADA ZILCH ZERO Looks like LO had someone in with equip cutting out some cedar. Guess I got beat. Next weekend Nice job though guys. Yer friggin killin it. SC Updated Total - 156
So I now have a three way dilemma, do I go back to SD in two weeks for their annual shed derby contest on sunday, and pay $300 for lodging and meals again for a total of two days of shed hunting, or do I go to the badlands of ND on public land and try to find some more mule deer, and possible whitetails and elk sheds and start trying to do it on my own, or do I focus on the bucks back home on our private and try to find their sheds even though I have already put a lot of miles on for those and only found 2 small ones? Decisions decisions....
