I may run feeders and cameras today and take some soil tests. If so, I should add a few to my count. #fingerscrossed
I found a matched set today! Finally on the scoreboard here in MN! Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Woohoo! Dang, our team score is rolling now. Good job guys! I didn't get out today like I thought I would. I got started cleaning up one of my old work trucks that has been parked for a long time and that's all I did all day besides a trip to town for cleaning supplies. Truck was bad enough when I parked it but mice had taken up residency in it and made it far worse. Damn mice... It's starting to look halfway respectable again. Luckily enough it has the old vinyl floor mat in it so I think I can get all the mouse piss smell out of it, lol. Now it just needs a new battery and some vacuum hoses repaired. I think it's time to sell some old stuff.
Score card post updated. Please check for accuracy I plan to make a trip out this coming Saturday, we shall see...
Went out to check cams again yesterday and happen to come across a old one that I know I have walked pass at least twice this year already.. Gives me a total of 3 so far. Still alot carrying head gear yet around me.. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk
2 more today. One small one and a GIANT nontypical with a double main beam and 3 drop tines! Coolest shed Ive ever found. #1 antler I was looking for on this property. That makes 20 for me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Dang Booner you are on fire! I am struggling pretty hard I still have some good stuff to walk but I am starting to get desperate. I might make a trip out to SD on a Private ranch for a weekend shed hunting trip in march.
Crazy as it sounds, I haven't touched my good spots yet. Im taking some vacation days in march to hit it pretty hard. Half of what ive found so far has been on public land Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Do you have to search pretty hard to find antlers on public land? there are some public spots around here but I haven't event thought about walking them. What do you look for in a public land shed property?
I shed hunt public land differently than private. I look for where people (other shed hunters) arent. A lot of the traditional bedding and feeding areas get hit hard here. I found boot tracks in January. So I look for places deer will go to escape human pressure. Usually I walk all the way to the back of a property, bypassing areas that "look good," and work my way back towards truck. The 2 yesterday were in public. I found both within 20 yds of each other on a high bluff overlooking a huge swath of timber where any deer could see people coming up walking trails. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
When you shed hunt so you cover a lot of ground and just slow down when there is more fresh sign or do you take your time always Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app

I put in for a half day vacation for March 17th headed to SD! I'm bringing my brothers dog too so hopefully we can get some good training in in the next 3 weeks! Sent from my SM-G930V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Team 1 looks like they will be hard to beat, but we are the only team that appears to stand a chance! I just got off the phone with the land owner in SD, they said most guys find about 12 a day, but those with a trained dog and willing to work hard can find about 20 a day. I will be hunting for two days out there so hopefully I have some good luck and we can really boost our score! If I really like it I also wouldn't be afraid to go back for another weekend in April.
