I have 3 days left here in kansas. i saw a nice 160 8 pt this morning, I am going to a new stand in the am and hoping to catch him on a fence line at first light. That is the only shooter I have seen in 4 days of hunting, tons of small bucks and does. The rut hasn't really heated up here, no chasing

    Good luck dmen.

I was in my stand for the first time today in almost a month and had a fun encounter with 2 spikers. They walked by at 10-12 yards and gave me several shots. Just too bad they aren't 3 years older. I set up my camera today down from my stand and found a bunch of rubs through the trees and a massive scrape. Hopefully I get a pic of the big guy in the area.

Here is the only pic I have of him with more than stubs on his head.

That is a dandy! I drew back on another doe this morning and when I grunted to get her to stop she faced me. She would not move after that and had a sappling in front of her. I held the bow for 5 minutes then I had to let it down. After that she would not stop looking at me to draw again. This all took place in my ground blind and now I have a stand up. I took the blind down so I hope for better luck from above!

Jay... I remember that picture from earlier. He is a stud !! Good luck with him.

Josh... I see you got your buck entered. Nice !! Congrats again on a great public land buck !!

Now with Dmen shooting a big buck Kansas... Team 19 is really rocking. Let's keep this party going !! Good luck in everyones hunting. Be safe !!

I will be out this for the next two weeks trying to fill my second buck tag now that that season is going. Hoping to get it done with bow but will also be packing the rifle for back up incase MR BIG is too crafty for me and stays out of bow range.

I'm starting to go through some hunting withdrawls. I need to get back out and get some good hunts in. This season is going to go by WAY too fast.

I AM SO SORRY TEAM! I went out this morning and had a great day. My Monster came by when it was still dark so no shot. Then a small 4 pointer came by. Then a nice 10 came by and I took shot. I shot low right in his arm pit. Good placement but low on the body. I tracked blood for 30 yards and it totally stopped. I backed out and then got a buddy and went back in 4 hours later! We searched for hours with not one drop of blood nor any deer. I am going to hit another spot tomorrow to see if he went there and I am not going to give up on this guy. I owe it to the deer to become part of my family! Here is a picture of him and the shot location. I had dark red blood and no bubbles. I think I might of went to low and just got the bottom of him. I hope he either lives and gives me a second shot or i find him tomorrow. Time will tell I guess. Sorry to the deer and sorry to my team! I am really beating myself up over this. I know it is part of hunting but I know I am better than this!

Red dot is where I hit him but leg was forward!

Did you go and get your loop tied back on;)

I think he is gonna be fine based on the shot location, he will just have a mean scar;) Keep me posted on how the search goes, I will be 20 feet up.

Loop back on and ready to fly once again! I will be out in morning to hunt then off to do a little more search just to be fair to the buck! It really bothers me with wounded deer! I hate it but I do know it is part of hunting!

After an emotional hunt this morning I looked for my buck for another few hours with no luck! Now to my hunt! I did not see any deer what so ever untill it was almost time to give up. It was like someone opened the flood gates! I had a doe come in with three yearlings. I let the first one pass and it go to the edge of the river when the big doe stepped into my shooting lane. I drew back and put the bead on her. I let the arrow fly to clip a twig and the arrow went over her back. I knocked another arrow right away and the one that I let pass stepped into my shooting lane and I put the hammer down. PERFECT shot! I waited about 5 minutes and here came my half rack buck. I grunted at him and he walked by. Next thing I know here he comes but he was walking right for my downed deer 20 yards away from me. He jumped and walked around the deer. Next place he went is 10 yards from my tree. I took 6 pictures of him with my cell phone. I got down and did what I had to do with my deer. I was on the way back home when I noticed a deer in the field by the high way. He was moving with a doe on the other side of the fence from him. I then got him to look at me and then I snapped a few pictures with my camera and then he went after the doe he was after but this time on the same side of the fence. The only problem was it is also on the 4 lane high way side also! I just hope they did not get hit by a car! That would of made one heck of a picture of them getting hit! Here are my pictures from today!

Here is my after effect from twig shot!

I am in Pontiac! That buck jumping fence jumped on I-55 side of the fence. He tried to cross twice with me watching then ran down the ditch to find his doe. I just hope they crossed ok without being hit.
