It's wasn't too bad my hands stayed warm haha. It was more the track job and drag from the bottom of our coulee. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
My husband has shot great deer when it's too cold and I don't go out. But, I just cannot handle it. I can have on the warmest of clothes and still be cold. So, needless to say, it will never happen...lol. I am officially making us Booner Doomers - Team 19.
Kristen, make sure you put that in the captain thread Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
On IG they have a contest called "an arrow a day". It's where you post a picture on Instagram of you shooting your bow each day for the month of August. Sadly I missed two days this month due to my shoulder however I can see Improvement in my shooting. I just love my new bow. Makes me feel pretty confident for this season.
It's bad to say, but I kinda hate Buckeye bc of all the big A deer he has killed(just kidding teammate). I'm headed to Shelbyville tomorrow to finish with stand prep and to take inventory. God Bless it's too hot for all of this but it's got to be done. Will post pics of anything good I see.
I know right. That's actually my son's dog that I inherited because well... he had no business getting a dog. That pic is after I picked him up at the vet the day he got fixed. I just thought that look he's giving me is classic.
Hung a lock on this morning and set 2 cameras on a small 10 acre spot just down the road from my house . Nice little corn field on the ridge with a timbered creek bottom below. Hope to get a doe early and have a nice spot just to hunt close to the house. It's a funnel between some bigger tracts of timber so who knows there could be a good one around. I plan on being there opening morning Sept 2nd if the wind is right.
Sounds like you need to invest in a ground blind and space heater. Or box stand. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Post rut with teens to single digit temps are some of my favorite times to hunt. Bucks are very patternable during shooting hours. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
This is an awesome team. Love the name Booner Doomers! I'm good for staying active with reports, pics and might even get the chance to put up some points...if I am lucky. PA starts in Oct and I'll be ready to take a mature doe on day one - through maybe 3 weeks in. Then it's hard to target a doe when Mr. bones might be cruising around. I'm lucky enough to have a doe tag for each of the three primary locations I hunt so, that increases my odds. I'll get out to check cams and put up some stands mid Sept. I hunt almost exclusively public land and very proud of it. I would also be proud to hunt my own farm or 300 acres however...that only exists in my dreams! No pics of big bucks to share however, they are ALWAYS around the public lands of PA. Just a matter of time, dedication and luck.
Uhhhh...am I the only one that only counts 9 points? Lol Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
