Yea I feel pretty lucky. We have 2 farms that are 600 ac and 500 ac and we barely set foot on them during the rifle season. The 600 acre farm we didn't hunt from the day my son killed his buck on Oct 2 till just a couple days ago. Actually got pics of several other good bucks from last week that hopefully made it too but I'm still waiting for proof of life on them.

Glad all those deer made it through the army of rifle hunters! Some great bucks! Some will be monsters next season.

First Ohio hunt this morning and saw a wall hanger. Just out of range. Back at it tonight. Is it too late to rattle?

I agree, maybe a soft blind rattle with 15 min left if nothing is around.

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.

No updates here. Had my two yearlings out while doing chores. I really hope they make it through the orange army. I doubt they will though...I was able to watch them this afternoon and they didn't spook. Too many city slickers sneak into the chunk that butts up to ours :(

Not much chance to hunt this weekend with family and holiday stuff going on. I'm going to get out and scout around a bit tomorrow morning and then get in a tree somewhere tomorrow afternoon.

Second shotgun season this weekend. Not sure what my mindset will be. Might only shoot a monster and if that don’t happen then I’ll just wait for a good cold snap and get out with the bow again

I’ve been spending thankgiving in AZ with the in laws. Sounds like they are running like crazy back home. Gun season ends Sunday and I haven’t heard of any of the big guys being shot, so that’s a plus.

I'm gonna have my church service in the tree in the morning. Good luck to all out.

It's a beautiful morning at 37 degrees here. I've seen a coyote, 6 does and a little basket 6 or 8(couldn't tell for sure) so far. I'm gonna give it until lunch.

Ugh. I went out shopping with my wife last night and then we came home and watched movies. I slept in this morning and of course had big deer daylighting all over the place. I suck.

IMG_7965.PNG I'm not having a good day. Was just about to go get in this stand. I guess I will anyway but what are the odds that he comes back?

Had a good trip to Ohio to see family. Me and my buddy Travis doubled down on does in the same tree. Got it all on camera so it was pretty cool. Had a shooter come out at 25 yards at dark but didn't get a shot. Saw a huge buck on Wed morning too but just out of shooting range. Everything else I saw was either a doe or a young buck. I'll post the pics and get everything uploaded in the next couple of days. I'm still holding out hope for a buck or two. Ill keep everyone posted.

200 bucks were taken to the local processing place on opening day. It's a central location, so I am sure they're from all over the county - but still, 200. I have yet to step foot in the woods this rifle season and am debating on going Saturday. I actually thought about taking my bow out but I am afraid they'll be too on alert due to the heavily pressured woods I hunt. Meanwhile, husband has been out every day and has yet to see a buck. This season stinks!!

Get out there! Does not matter if you have a bow or gun. I was out on Monday and Tuesday. No dice... disappointingly, I was hoping for a shot at the brute I missed in archery.
