Forgot my heavy boots this morning so had to wear the light ones. Got down after two hours saw 4, a yearling buck and a doe with two fawns. That does it for my rutcation hunting. We will see how shotgun season goes the next couple weeks to see if I get to bow hunt again. Was a good year so far all things considered got my buck and could have shot some does durning my vacation but chose not too. Good luck everyone let’s see some blood beav.

It's a cold one here. I'm at work - husband went out this AM and saw 5. A decent 115" 8pt, a button buck, nice size doe, a spike and an unknown that ran under his stand when he was getting in.

For everyone who keeps telling us in our area that the rut is full on....yeah, not so much. Husband said he didn't see any signs of it.

And my daughter has a fever. Had to cut the hunt short to pick her up from daycare. Had a tall 10 and a button buck in this morning. But gotta keep the kids healthy.

Hope the kiddo is doing better.

Didn't hunt yesterday and had two, 40 yards away, while I was doing chores. I contemplated grabbing my bow and trying to sneak shoot. I didn't do it...but really, not hunting and I see them. Hunt and I dont.

That said, last sit of the regular season. Have a wedding to attend this afternoon. Not looking good, team :(

No fever this morning. Thanks for checking. Will be heading out after lunch. Couldn’t ask for a better wind or better weather in general. As long as it doesn’t warm up I will be good.

Sit so far,0. Beautiful and cold morning. Will sit the rest of the day. My father almost shot a great buck yesterday. I saw a few, but nothing to write about.

Saw a couple at day break. That was it. It's freezing and I'm done.

Husband saw 15 deer yesterday and only 3 this morning out of range. Such an odd CRAPPY year.

Sat tonight, just saw 4 young bucks don’t know if it’s from the start of rifle season or if the big guys are locked on a doe but rut activity has slowed a bit.

Another late start this morning and can only sit until noon. Will likely do the same thing on Wednesday or Thursday if the weather holds like it is.

Our rifle season opens on Saturday and then muzzle loader right after so I have this week with the bow and then will hang it up for two weeks.

You can’t see deer if you aren’t in the woods.

Seems as though our team is either not having luck or out hunting hard. Hopefully hunting hard!

rattled in a buck last night but he came downwind and winded me...that's been my year this year!!! Going to visit a friend this weekend and take him out hunting on some public land. I gave him my old bow last year so here's hoping we have a good time hunting some public land. Next week I'm going to visit my family in Ohio and do some hunting. Family ground all got sold but thankfully my dad was able to purchase some at the auction. So hopefully in the next week or so I'll get something on the ground.

Recently got back from my Kentucky trip, awesome trip for me!

Let me start off chronologically, got to the property on Friday and went in the woods about 4pm, seen a couple does and a 4pt chasing. About 5pm is when I seen the biggest buck I have ever seen in my life! A massive mainframe ten with both of his brow tines split and both of his G2s split making him a 14pt. This was a picture of him last year(he was bigger this year)

    IMG_7458.JPG

Watched him for about 10 minutes he was running around chasing does, grunting at them and licking some branches, by this time I've already had to tell myself to calm down 3 times I was shaking so much!! He made a figure 8 at about 30-35yrds and I did the Mehhhh noise and he stopped... took the shot and then watched my arrow go right over his back.... he took off and never seen him again. Honestly was just ecstatic to have just seen this monster of a buck in person let alone be able to get a shot off!

The next morning my dad managed to shoot a really nice 8pt!

A couple days go by, seen a lot of young bucks chasing does, last morning on Tuesday, we were set to be out of the woods by 9 so we can get a good head start on driving back home to Florida. Was in the stand, haven't seen anything all morning and at 8:30 I hear a crash in the woods. 5 minutes go by and then I see a doe slipping out of the woods, and right behind her is a nice 8pt! I let him get within 30 and I got him!

I haven't had time to score him yet but hopefully this weekend I can let you guys know and we can enter him into the contest!

I could shoot my weight in squirrels but I don’t think that would count.
