Got setup about 430. Entry and setup was quiet. Wind is perfect for me, terrible for the deer. We'll see if that old boy will move in daylight with this North wind.

Didn't see a single deer tonight. Saw a beautiful gray squirrel and a black squirrel...and about 50 chipmunks.

Husband saw 9 and Grandfather and cousin saw 19...think I'm in a bad spot.

Hunted morning and evening. Saw nothing, loved every minute of it. Did see two porcupine.

I had him about 25 yards at last light, hit full draw and couldn't see my pins... I could clearly see my sight housing and peep sight at full draw, just no pins.

    Never had that happen before.

He looked bigger in person than on the cam too.

The plus side to this encounter is I have his bedding location nailed down a litttle better.

    Go get 'em!

I'll be heading out Tuesday after work. Moving a stand this afternoon (no hinting Sundays in PA) that should get me a shot at a doe.

I have a great wind (and very rare easterly) for tonight's hunt on a different property. I ran a cam here for 1 week last month. I got some pics of some nice bucks but none that I can say I'd take for sure if given the opportunity.

I do know there is at least one good buck that I did not get photos of because there was a giant fresh rub there when I checked my camera but the couple nice ones that I got the photos of were still in velvet.

IMG_7496.JPG IMG_7501.JPG IMG_7503.JPG Glad to see you guys are getting out some. I still haven't hunted yet through a month of season. Our hot weather finally broke cooler this week but I had a couple friends from PA come down and hunt so I was helping them instead of hunting myself. I could go sit this afternoon but I have too much to do and a yard to mow. I can hunt Wed but it supposed to be back hot and horrible moon phase by then. I think I'll go anyway just to break the ice. This cooler weather has got some bucks moving around again at least. Got some nice pictures at least. Good luck to everyone getting out this afternoon.

IMG_7481.JPG This is one of the most beautiful deer I have ever seen. He's really too young to shoot but I'm having a hard time finding anyone who thinks they could pass him. I'm not big on naming bucks other than descriptive stuff like "the big 9" and such but I named this deer Adonis.

Me too, was a little late and was able to slip past a doe while getting in the stand, she is 150 yards away heading the wrong direction it I have already seen my first deer!!! This stand has been good to me when wind has switched from north to south in a 24 hr period so I had to try hopefully the big one slips up

So I had a change of plans and hunted the same property as yesterday. I saw him again today. He he walked in on me to 40 yards with 10 minutes of legal light left. He then stood there for 30 mintues, well past shooting light. He turned around and went back the way he came. He knew something was up.

He is seriously kicking my butt. First two rounds goes to him.

I will be fortunate to get another crack at him after these last two encounters.

Going out tomorrow afternoon. Temps are getting hotter, going to hunt over small pond in between two wooded areas. Good luck to everyone!

Glad you're getting encounters, Scott. He'll be back.

Good luck everyone going out today. I'll attempt an evening sit tomorrow.
