We pulled the cameras from the places we aren't hunting yesterday and hung one last stand. Nothing on camera besides a couple small bucks and a couple doe. But, we are having EXTREMELY weird weather right now. It's supposed to be 90* today. Usually we're in the 60's. A cold front is moving in Wednesday and will have a little rain. Hoping that gets things moving for opening day, Saturday.

WI is having the same weather. Mid 80s today. We have the same front coming through mid-week so hopefully can get back out.

We have been having highs in the 50s, starting to feel like hunting weather! I'm hoping to get some more daylight pics.

I had a dream I shot one of the bucks I had on camera at 7am opening morning...if that happens I am going to be shocked. But, I felt really good about it, lol.

So I'll be heading back up to Ga tonight for the weekend, but my bow isn't back from the shop yet. I'm gonna have to use my crossbow, do any of you guys know if I can still get points for this contest using a crossbow? If not I have an old bow I haven't shot in years and I don't know if it's tuned or not. Gonna shoot that tonight before I leave and see how that goes..

    You can use a crossbow.

    • 2. All deer entered into this contest must be harvested with archery equipment only. After all, this is Bowhunting.com. This includes compound bows, traditional equipment, or crossbows.

As long as it is legal, of course. Went out last night and had a doe at 33 yards. Had some branches in the way so I couldn’t shoot. And of course since it is urban management I can’t trim anything out of the way.

My boys both have Soccer games Saturday morning and early afternoon but I will be able to get out. I have a solid plan worked up for Saturdays North wind on a property with a good buck on it. He hasn't been daylight walking since he shed his velvet but it has been insanely hot for this time of year. A cold front moved in today dropping temps 20 some degrees from yesterday. The cold front will be here through Sunday. Hoping the cooler temps gets him on his feet as I only have a couple week window to hunt this buck.

I'll be out in the woods bright and early tomorrow. It's cold - which I hate, haha - but should get deer moving. Drove out last night spotting and saw a small seven point a few fields down and a TON of doe everywhere. Good luck to all going out!

I will be out again today after work. This weather is perfect and the wind is going to switch right in my favor. Should be a good sit.

Depending what I see, I *may* do an all day sit. Usually most don't this early in the season - but I had deer on camera all hours of the day. I'll be the first to admit I am not picky and waiting for a monster buck. If it's legal and I feel respectful I will hope to harvest it.

In the stand right now. First time on this property and I've got to be honest. I need to poop. I'm not sure which odds are greater: I get skunked first time hunting g this property or I skunk the deer! Stay tuned for details.

Was disappointed in my scouting mission, way to much corn and the one spot that didn't have alot of corn two guys were camouflaged up walking around with guns. Found a couple trails so I might still attempt but I'm not as excited about the thought as I was

I appreciate that and I didn't get skunked nor did I skunk the deer. Saw four does tonight and a coyote. By the time I got up and the camera around the coyote was out of shooting range. Next time I'll just shoot it and not worry about the camera. I can just describe what it looked like to everyone hahaha.

Sat this morning. Got in super early since I still needed to tie in my bow rope and put up my harness line. Waited over an hour for day break. Once day broke, Temps dropped and I froze. Saw 3 doe, I believe mom and two yearlings short after 7. Tried many angles, just no clear shot. Called it an early morning with the cold Temps and wind, I was miserable. Got breakfast and took a nap, heading back out now. We will see!
