I've heard some great sales about K-mart from the stores closing. The only one I go to is staying open. Checked some cameras, still some good signs. Deer daily 2-3p seems to be the best time. It'll be an all day spot. Got a new puppy yesterday, been a little busy around home.
Put the first cameras of the year out yesterday on probably our second best farm. It looked really good. The best part of it was really overgrown and the deer have really been using the overgrown clover and pasture fields bordering the neighboring crops. My buddy got a 168" down there last year and a big NT the year before so hopefully the trend continues and it is good for at least having a good shooter around to go after again. Should know before long.
Just got some great news. I got accepted to the urban hunt. Now I just have to hope that I get the area that I want. It is earn a buck and the tags are all bonus so don't have to burn any of my other tags! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Well that didn't take long. Just put first cameras of the year on the farm out at lunch yesterday and early this afternoon a group of 4 nice bucks show up. Can't tell too much from the pics on the App but at least one looks like a shooter. Hopefully they will come back in over the next couple days and pose a little better for the camera.
So normally hunt in Georgia, was just given the opportunity to hunt in Kentucky but the only problem is it would make me decide between hunting my normal Ga rut or going to Kentucky and hunting their rut
Yes we have a bunch of Covert Code Blacks. They post the photos real time to an App on your phone. The pictures on the App are obviously not as good as what you will see when you pull the card but still useful. Like these from last night. Obviously the same big deer in two different plots 1/4 mile apart within just a couple hours time. That's twice this week that he has done that. Awfully good info to have without actually having to go back to the cameras.
I (and you if you want one) can get the cameras for $300 each. The data plan is $34.99 for 3 months (per camera). You can just run them for whatever portion of the year you want and then deactivate them for the rest of the time. They can be used as a regular camera any time so you can deactivate and still use as a regular camera.
Thanks for the info, I have been interested in them for awhile. We're driving 45minutes one way just to check cameras. To most that's not far, but with our crazy life it messes up a day. What cell or service provider do they use?
The camera is sending in a few pics. This is the Moultrie with the modem attached and it's like 15 bucks a months on as many cams as you want and up to 1500 pics depending on how you set the cam up .
AT&T or Verizon but the Verizon cameras are $50 higher and the plan for the first camera is more expensive.
Is this a different thing then what Steve runs? I'm clueless when it comes to these. I suppose I could research it, lol. I just buy regular cameras when they're on sale. We have five out right now - and probably five or more sitting around.
Kentucky property will be out of Lawrenceburg about 30 miles from Lexington and my Ga properties are in Wheeler county and Lauren's county. It's out of Lawrenceburg near Lexington, I have 5-7 days to hunt any time within the first three weeks of November. What days would you suggest is prime time for rut in that area?
