14 days and counting for my first day in Illinois. Missing opening day this year, I made promises. Good ones, and I honor my promises no matter how high my buck fever temperature is running. It is HIGH!!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums

I didn’t get out to hunt this afternoon. But that is okay because today Easton won the statewide Arkansas Game and Fish Commision Student Markmanship Challenge for 1st-3rd grade division. We knew he had a great chance to win the central Arkansas division. We were quite suprised and proud when he won state. He competed in five categories: BB guns, @naspschools archery, 3D archery, slingshots, and target casting. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Got out yesterday afternoon for the first sit. Didn’t see a thing but it felt good. Raining all day today. I’ll wait.
Well, home from Colorado with my tag. Lots of bugling and called in a real nice 325 inch bull for another guy in camp. No shots available for him or me. I had a couple bulls within 40 yds but they wouldn't cooperate. Lots of miles and fun. Ready to get after the sika and whitetails.
Here are a few pics... First one had a bull within 40 yds on the back side of this meadow. Second- had 8 bulls chasing cows at the bottom of this meadow. Third-fresh wallow near the first meadow. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Had a ball up in Idaho hunting with the boys. My one son got a little deer. We just about closed the deal on a 4 point bull. I called him in to about 20 yards in the scrub pines and my son drew back twice but couldn't get a clean shot. I wish I was still up there with them. But they dont have to drag around there old-man so I'm sure there hitting it hard. I did cover around 10 miles on Monday. I told them not to tell there Mom or we would all be in trouble. When I got home last night the second thing out of here mouth was"You hiked more then you should have didnt you" of course I said yes and she shook her head and said I thought you would. The first thing she said was she missed me. Anyway I wish I was still there.
Glad you got to stretch your legs. It awesome to hear how much you enjoy spending time with your family. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums

I had a rough day. Shot a doe at 7 am this morning. Thought I had double-lunged her. After 8 hours of searching, including three with tracking dogs, more than 600 yards from public on to private land, I was unable to recover the doe. It sucks, but today was the opener of season, lots of time left. It will be at least three weeks before I get back out. Family obligations are keeping me busy the next two weeks. Hoping to get out the 6th for afternoon to evening sit. Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting.com Forums
2 sits so far, 0 deer seen. This weekend is looking promising. Temps dropping and some humidity on the horizon. Client on PTO, so I'm hoping to get a sit Friday evening and maybe Saturday. Forecasted changing wind directions will have me doing some hiking though. Friday heat and wind from the north is perfect for my pond sit...3 mile hike sucks. The Sat wind from the east will give me the opportunity to try a spot I found during turkey season and should only be a mile hike.
We are going from 86 today to 70 tomorrow and 62 Friday I will have my first sit sometime this week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
