Neighbor at the cabin texted me pics of a nice buck on the property joining ours. I have no pics of this buck, but it would be nice if he took a little walk about our way. I'm heading to the cabin late tomorrow morning. Should be a good weekend with the cold front hitting.

I like that guy a lot Dan!

I really, really should have went hunting tonight. This is killing me, I'm torn. Want to kill a mule deer bad but I really want to go hang a stand for Whitetail now. Decisions.

I shot my buck in Wisconsin, I think it will score in the 150's, and yes I did unfortunately shoot it in the neck. I let it walk past at 15 yards and took a quartering away shot. I ended up hitting quite forward, entered the front of the shoulder and exited the center of the neck. I knew when I shot that it felt forward but didn't think that far. Actually ended up hitting the very front of his lungs and he made it about 80 yards, sometimes I'll take some luck I guess.

Any luck in the new stand set backcountry?

Congrats again! Glad the shot worked out.

Sat on the stand, nothing came through. The area will produce, though. Spent today toting a rifle.around for my wife, and will do so tomorrow. Looking for her for first buck. My next hunt will likely be Monday.

I need to see this ...... Congrats on a slob 5 1/2 year old. Now that "maximus" is dead my outlook on the rest of this season is pretty dampering... Yup Travis, looks like I shot maximus! The pics you posted threw me because last year that double main beam thing was on the opposite side. I quickly green scored him and he was a pleasant surprise as he scored 175-1/8 gross. Im going to take my time and score him one more time. Just picked up a 150-160" ten on cam this week so they're still out there good luck!
