Hey Fitz I just got an update from the guy who is working on my European mount on the buck I shot on 11/09/14. It should be done sometime this week. As soon as I get it I'll score him, if it's not too late.
Well I snuck back out to Missouri over Thanksgiving weekend but didnt have any shooters walk by. Good luck to everyone still hunting! I'm rooting for you!
bow season ended her in MA and Shotgun opened yesterday.. I went out, but it just isn't the same. Had a doe w/ 2 fawns bed under me in AM and PM. that's it. Lots of nice bucks shot though. Each year I am less and less excited about gun hunting... at least locally here. Good luck to everyone... My bowhunting season is probably over for the most part. Can't complain... 4 bucks and a doe this year. 2 going on the wall with shoulder mounts and 1 euro mount... very blessed.

I've taken a few more does since I posted last, I took one last night in my PJs and slippers LOL Wife was cooking and I looked out the window and two does were 30 yards out the back. I through my snow camo on and snuck out the front, decided to see if the big buck was following suit but he wasn't. Took her she went 30 yards and piled up. But this guy, he's my target! He showed up while I was at military training if he had jumped that fence the wife was waiting with the muzzleloader!
Good work Billy! I'll get out a few more times yet this month. I need to do a trail cam check and re-deployment today or tomorrow.
I Won't be able to get back out until the first of the year. I got a long weekend starting January 1, so those four days I'll be looking to take the first mature buck, on our hitlist, that comes into bow range. Haven't hunted since November 23! It'll feel like a new hunting season by the time I get back out :D
Well, this has by far been my best season ever... Truly blessed... and it got better last night... I took my daughter over to my buddy's honey hole in NY Sat afternoon and didn't see anything. He was shocked and said she had to go Sunday. I could not go to a board meeting commitment, so my very good friend Martin took her. about 10 min before dark I get a FaceTime call from my daughter! She got her first deer! 70 yards and she smoked it.. after missing one earlier at 30 yards! I had tears in my eyes... so proud... so happy for her... so thankful to have a friend who would spend the time taking my daughter when I couldn't. My season is complete... I wish I was there with her for it... but I'm so proud of her nonetheless.

Took another doe this evening, thought I put a good shot on her, almost stepped on her twice had to back out going after her in the morning. Did take home a fat gray squirrel though!
