At the hotel getting ready to head out. My first Illinois hunting trip starts now! Hope I can get a good one to help the team out.

Went this weekend.. had a buck come in grunting as light was starting to break in MA on Sat AM... never did get a visual as he stayed on the other side of some blowdowns in low light... that's about it all weekend... lots of guys seeing chasing going on this week.

I put a buck down for us last night boys. He's my biggest to date I'm still riding that high, pics to follow. And I'll get him scored soon as I get the head back.

Thanks guys. It was an unbelievable afternoon. I was just about a to draw on a doe and he stepped out and headed my way. I was hunting in an area for my number 2 hit lister that would go in the upper 40's, but something kept telling me to take this one. I've been bowhunting for 15 years and now taken four bucks. 2 button bucks, a small 6 pointer 7 years and now this guy. Forgot how good it felt to get your hands on some bone!

That's a dandy buck, Buk. Congratulations on your hunt, I think you made a good decision to take him.

Cotton, man, what bummer. Hey, you are not the first to hit a branch. Hope you have better luck next time.
Still nothing for me. I let the doe's and turkeys walk this past weekend. Was hoping for some bone to walk by.

Well after missing two deer over the past 4 days was getting depressed and want to know what was up

So went to the range and shot

My bow was dialed in opening day and I took two does that day

Since then I have missed two other deer

My bow was now shooting 8inches low and 4 inches right

Lesson learned now guys always check your gear and I will be paying more attention to my gear during the season and not take anything for chance

finally caught up to a buck in NY.. very little buck activity on cameras. Not much happening at all during daylight.. and not a pic of a mature buck at all in over 2 months or running the cam.
I took the first buck that finally came in and gave me a shot.. couldn't be happier... lots of time and hard work just to see this buck... let alone shoot it. He'll taste good anyway.
