I've been itching to get out this last week the weather has been gorgeous highs in the low 60s and lows in the 40s. The fields are covered in deer right now.

Just about the same weather her BukFvr but the fields I typically see deer in (40+) have been completely empty. My small ten acre field has become a runway for them each night/morning. I watched a small buck chase 6 does around the field for an hour two days ago. I'm hoping the big boys push them out in the next 2-3 weeks.

Heading up to the camp after work today. Praying for some good pictures on the cameras. We haven't had any luck what so ever this late summer on the camera.

Late last season they cut a real big chunk of our lease so we have a lot of cutover and it's green and 3-4ft tall at the moment. I know the deer are bedded and feeding in there now. Just need them acorns to start falling

The fields in CT have been empty as well.. usually full.
So many acorns this year, I think they are holding up and feeding there!?!?! Not sure

Hey Guys! Remember me? I've been AFK for a while and wanted to check in and see how everyone has been doing. I'm glad to finally get this season rolling. I hunted Monday in Missouri and didn't see much. The most exciting parts of the hunt was watching a heard of raccoons walk under my tree at sunrise and then watched a snake also pass under my tree. My cameras are showing a few decent bucks but no monsters. Early tomorrow morning I'll be heading for Colorado for my Elk hunt just south of Gunnison. It should be a blast. I'm a little concerned since I had both knees replaced back in November (yes I'm that old - 50) and I still feel weak, but I don't care. Fitz, good luck on your hunt too. I think we have similar likes and habits, as I'll be taking my Canon 70D hoping to get good footage of our hunt. I'll be hunting with my brother who lives in Texas and two of my very good friends that I hunt with here in Missouri. I wish everyone on our team the best of luck this season.

Thanks guys... I was suprised too. I had a pic of him on Tues still in full velvet... was shocked... even more shocked when he came in last night and still had it... he is peeling a bit on the back of the beams and has a big split in G2 Velvet. I'm sure we damaged it a bit more dragging him out. Tried our best to be careful.
Definately my best bow buck to date.

That's a beautiful buck. Full velvet is a double bonus. Congratulations on a great harvest.
