Nice bucks Oh!!! Yesterday was opening day of CT. saw 3 does in AM.. no shots.. Yesterday afternoon I had 2 come in right at dark.. they held up behind me about 15 yards in the pines and I could not see them... just hear them. They stayed for a bit and never came out to the clearing and just turned around and left... very strange... not sure if they winded me or saw me or something... based up on my cam, I'm thinking it was a 2.5 year old 7pt and the monster I am hunting... they just turned and trotted off.. never blew or anything. I don't think they were in camera range yet to confirm. hope they don't disappear on me. I'll stay out for a couple of days and check cam thurs
goin to spot where saw does yesterday am tonight. this is more of a "meat" spot... but there are a couple decent 8 points running around there.
Good luck guys!!! I feel like everyone has a head start on us the race has started and yet again NY is behind on the run! Lol less than two weeks!!!! Good luck guys we've got this!
I feel the same way atleast I only have 10 days to go before the season starts Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
no luck last night... saw a nice bobcat and a half dozen or so turkeys... no beards, or an arrow would have flown for fall season! not many in fields last night on way home... which are usually full. Strange. may get out Thurs or Fri afternoon depending on work. I usually just hunt CT to get some meat in the freezer before NY & MA open (10/1 and 10/20 respectively). Once daylight savings hits, it's hard to make the close to hour ride to CT after work to get a hunt in.
It'll happen! My meat spot is near your area I'll be out that way in early October. Only 9 days left until our northern zone opener and we have 4 days to fill last seasons unfilled tags so meat is the objective for the 4 days. Looking forward to my bear hunt this weekend just picked up a nice summit cobra climber for some public land use, going to be a chore carrying it and all my cam equipment Lol we'll make it work! Good luck!!
