    What's up fellas.
Mike from MD checkin in. I mostly hunt public land in MD but will hopefully make it out to OH and PA a little bit this year.
I'm gonna be a daddy in Nov so im not going to be able to take off the amount of time I usually do but I'll get out a good bit.

Some of you guys have some great looking deer on cam. Hopefully the sightings will continue into the season.

Checking in from Southern Indiana.I will kill at least 4 or 5 deer this year. I have a goal of shooting at least one buck over 140". Last year I killed 3 bucks and 9 doe across 3 states. No giants but I had a good time.

This season I plan on bow hunting at least 3 states IN, TN, and OH/KY.

I will be hunting a new area. It is a 65k+ acre military base and I have only drove around it with my wife. I have decided to spend most of the October Lull scouting. I have read several articles and heard from guys on here how they find the limited sign in October then go back to those areas in November and they are wore out with sign. The reason in my mind is because this sign is in the bucks core area and they will continue to work this area during the rut. I will use this time to locate the largest groups of doe. In the past I have "hunted" the doe during the rut and it has worked very well.

    My 2014 hunting schedule:
Early Season (Sept. 6th- Oct 8th) Hunt weekends
Mid October (Oct 9th-20th) Scouting (At least 2 days per week) Very Little Hunting
Pre Rut (Oct 21st-Oct 30th) Hunt at least once per day (The shift begins from evening to morning movement with bucks)
All Day Sit Marathon (Oct 31st-November 15th) Only get out of stand due to kill or to change locations
Late Rut (November 16th-November 25th) Still hunting hard just hopefully in TN
Late Season (November 26th- January 19th) Hunting weekends and just have fun

Bottom line I have a huge new area to learn for myself and I would love to put my wife on a big deer there. It is going to be a busy season but it is going to be so much fun!

All I do is bow hunt in the fall. I don't even watch much football because it is during deer season.

Checking in boys! Rizzo is an old nickname from college that has stuck with certain people I hang around. Real name is Mike.

I have been fortunate to have been able to put down a doe and buck each year of this contest. Hopefully, that trend will continue, but it may not. Last year in late October I got a decent buck on family property in WI. I showed the landowner the deer as I always did in the past. On my 2 hour drive back to northern IL I got a call from one of his sons telling me that they are no longer going to allow anyone other than his brother and him to hunt he property! This was awesome bluff country in SW WI.

This year I will be hunting some small properties here in McHenry county (3, 11 and 20 acres). One of the properties I passed during second gun season a nice 10 that would have grossed in the 140's if he hadn't lost 3 tines. I put my Dad in that location the next 2 days and he never saw him. I got two videos of his rack last month and he is looking really good this year! This is on the 11 acre property which is a marshy area amongst crop fields. I pulled my cam early this month and will stay out of the area until season opens Oct 1. Once the farmers pull their crops I rarely see deer in there. I am hoping that this guy has become a resident on the property as there is no human pressure.

I will also be doing a couple hunts on public land in central IL. The deer herd in the area has been hit hard with EHD and over harvesting of does the last 5+ years so I am not sure what to expect this season.

I'm fine with you being captain short69!

Oh...forgot to add that I acquired the 20 acre property this year. The landowner requested that I don't step foot on the property until mid-September. All I know is that a 193" and 196" were taken about 1/4 mile away over the past 3 seasons so I am kinda pumped to be able hunt this little property. I have seen both bucks and HOLY SH*T! If I see one of them near my I will most likely urinate myself. The property also has the landowner's home, but is mostly oaks. Kinda excited by this property, but not going into the season expecting to harvest anything out of there.

I like the velvet buck you got benkharr! I had an opportunity last year, but he was just a spike in velvet!

I'm also fine with short69 being captain. Thanks for offering. As far as a Team name, I'm up for anything, as long as it isn't runner up. LOL.
