Very nice buck. Congrats man. I hunted all day yesterday and saw 6 does, just out of range. Starting 11/8 I'll be hunting for about 10 straight days. Looking forward to that. It's starting to heat up and I'm looking forward to it. Good luck ya'll.

Well I had one of my top 5 days ever in the woods today. I only saw 1 deer but my son saw 2 and was able to take his first deer with a bow. He was proud but not as proud as his daddy.

The downside is in three sits this weekend I saw 1 doe about 250 yards away. Sadly I consider that a win, at least I know there are a couple does on the property to bring in the big boys over the next couple weeks. I did get a couple of good pics of shooter bucks on my property, I'll post them tomorrow when I get a chance.

Here are the bucks I was talking about.

The very heavy 4x4 I'm now obsessed with. This gene pool has produced several very heavy deer over the last 8-10 years, hopefully it continues.

This guy I know I have pictures of in the last couple years. He has grown up, I need to meet him face to face.

Well its my luck to draw out a NWR antlerless hunt and see almost all bucks. Counted 8 bucks today two were north of 170 at least. I walked down one trail and counted 36 scrapes in maybe 75 yards. We were trying to get my wife a doe. Only seen four does all were out of range. We'll be back after them in the morning.

Yes, but its only youth that get bucks. An they didnt even have it this year because of the gov shut down. One of the big bucks was within 20 yards. Didn't even know we were around. They told us in briefing this morning thay we would possibly see bucks over the 200 inch mark. I dont think those were quite thay big but they were BIG.

That's insane. I can't imaging having a 170" buck at 20 yds and taking pictures of it instead of sending an arrow through it. But rules are rules I guess.

They did say it was only a 2500 ticket:) guess you could shoot take your pics and pay the fine. Of course they take the deer also though. He said every year during their control ML hunt someone will shoot a buck.

I couldn't afford the fine , but I would prolly fall out of the tree when I saw a buck of that size any how.

They had a buck in the headquarters that a lady ran over the first of October. It was 187 an some change. Ive duck hunted at this place since I was young. Couldn't even imagine how many big bucks ive seen. The wife an I drove the six mile loop one evening last week and counted 169 deer. Thats what we could see from the road. Hopefully we have better luck in the morning.
