Yep. I’m the guy that once left a note on your windshield about “please tell me how to kill big deer”. Does that make me creepy?

My name is Scott. I live in NE Ohio. I hunt up here and I run those old dirt roads with Josh down in East Central Ohio.

I've been in this contest a lot of times but haven't signed up the last couple years. Been fortunate enough to enter some good bucks in this contest over the years. I don't mess with does, so only way I'll get the 50 doe points is if I tag out early enough in Ohio to go out of state and run into another good buck there. So, I wouldn't count on those 50 from me :tu:

Wait…. a second buck is also worth 50? This just changed my entire strategy

First buck counts as your buck. You can enter a second buck as your doe, but only get 50 points even if the second buck is larger than the first.

I almost exclusively urban hunt in Minnesota. The best strategy I’ve found for killing big urban bucks is to hunt the rut. Most “city” bucks in my experience are like country bucks. They are mostly nocturnal once they lose velvet and will hide out in the thickest little patches of woods they can find to avoid people. Season opens in MN Saturday but I usually wait till the last week of October and first 2 weeks of November to hit it hard.

Ahh.. gotcha. And do you have connections down the street at Dodge? Those guys always take forever with servicing my work car and it’d be great to have an insider to light a fire under their arses! Lol

I don't know anyone down there. We had our wrangler warranty stuff done down there. And I take my ram 2500 down there when needed.

I haven't put any cell cams out yet this year, just a couple regular cams. Have a bunch of running to do this morning (kids sports etc) after that's all finished up if it isn't to late gonna head out and put up some low impact area cell cams.

Good luck PreacherMan! We open here on Saturday too. And I’m changing things up a bit this year… I usually take 3-4 weeks off in late Oct & Nov. This year I’ll have most of the final week in Oct and the first two of Nov, but I’m also throwing in the first 5 days of the season. I’m not sure I’ll be able to hunt every day of those 5, and I’ll likely only do evening sits, but I’m gonna try to make something happen early.

I wonder about this guy… if he’s still alive… and if he misses me too

Only other pic I have is a mental image of me holding my flashlight at an expert level, while you drag my buck out.
