My boy is back. This is my target buck right now, I am thinking he is about 135. He was on three of my cameras four different times in the last 10 days. I hope he sticks around for me! The season opens next weekend.

If the name on the bottom of the pics. is different camera locations. I think you pretty much got him patterned where he is at different times during the day. I wouldn't hesitate on hunting him. He is a nice buck and I agree right around 135 also. Good luck and put the smack on. I have over half a month to wait here yet...

Yeah he is on three different cameras right now. I have about a week to hash out a game plan! Not sure if I will do a camera check before then. It would help, but I dont want to bust anything for the sake of scouting.

Those daylight pics are nice to see. My bucks have a bad habit of only showing uo after dark.

Of course he probably knows you can't hunt him yet. :poke:

Washing my clothes and packing up my gear tonight. Bow is dialed in and I'm almost ready for Saturday morning. Can only hunt in the morning Saturday, but all day Sunday Gotta celebrate dads 88th birthday Saturday evening.

Good luck and good for him! Maybe you'll be sharing some backstraps with him on the grill.

I'll be in a tree in the morning, but the hunting around home isn't what it used to be. I lost most of my good spots to urban sprawl. My old hunting grounds are now subdivisions. But you never know I see good bucks driving back and forth to work once in a while.

At least I'll be in a tree. It's like therapy.

Opening morning is one week away for me right now! This is my most anticipated season because I actually have a buck I am after.

South Dakota finished its drawing for rifle tags this week. These are the tags I hold as it stands now:

    Gregory county any deer (rifle)
    Gregoy county doe (rifle)
    Hutchinson county any deer (rifle)
    East River any deer (archery)
    East River doe (archery)
    Yankton county any turkey (archery)

This is the first year I have drawn two rifle buck tags, so there is a lot of pressure on me. If I can tag out for archery early, it will allow me to focus on my rifle hunts. For once I wouldnt mind dropping a buck before November. Hutchinson county rifle tags can only be drawn about once every five years, so this it is a big deal.

Saw 2 does and 3 fawns 60 yards from my stand this morning, but they were only 20 yards from my truck. Guess I'll put my popup in the pickup and hunt there in the morning.

Nice to know your in their neighborhood isn't it! Why bother with a popup when you can hunt from the comfort of your drivers seat. Better luck tomorrow!

No deer this morning, but I did have 2 dogs running around loose in the woods. That might explain the no deer sightings. If I'd have known that I'd have stayed in bed.
