Looks like you choose wisely boof! Thats a image I cant wait to see! Hopefully I can get my bow sorted out by then! This thing is really getting on my nerves. Bought it last year had no problems, this year I can't figure out whats wrong. Taking it to one of the better bow shops around later today.
Not much going on this morning. Saw four does, three coons and a rare green heron. Ill be back out tonight for sure. Man did I forget how cold 32 degrees really is!
Time for a shower, then headed out to where I saw the bucks in the beans last Sunday. I can't hunt the property they were on, but hopefully they cross the property next door that I can hunt. Good luck tonight guys that are hunting.
Im heading out tonight to the same stand as this morning. I am only shooting the nine point that is on my trail camera this weekend. However, this week I will be hunting some ground closer to where I go to college. Given the chance, I will dust a doe there.
Here are some pictures of my opening morning: http://forums.bowhunting.com/showthread.php?38670-Opening-Morning-Pictures
My season hasn't opened yet so it looks like I'll be board. Not really though, so much stuff to get done before hunting season starts its not funny. I have to side my house, build a 16x24 shed and a bunch of trim work. All on top of working full time and hunting prep. AHHH!!!
10 More days for me, and this great weather for hunting is killing me!!! I really hope the weather holds and is not 85 deg. at the opener.
Saw the same 2 little bucks that was with the nice 10 pt last Sunday evening. Had one at 50 and the other at 60, but their buddy wasn't there tonight.
Saw three does last night and nothing this morning. I think that concludes my opening weekend. Not too exciting, but fun to be back out there. I hope all my bucks havent gone nocturnal already.
Well team, I passed up a sure 50 points (as sure as I can be anyway). I was hunting in our subdivision (all 3+ acre lots) this evening next to an oak that is dropping acorns. I have permission to hunt on the back of 3 connected lots that back up to a small creek, about 10 acres total. I climbed the tree around 4 and got settled in. I could hear that there were people out in the yards of 2 of the neighboring homes. One I have permission to hunt the other I never asked. They have young kids and 2 dogs. Around 4:30 I can see deer approaching. I think wow they are out early. They proceed to surround me as 6 does and fawns start feeding on the acorns. I am soooooo wanting to let and arrow fly as I had about half a dozen perfect shots from 5-15 yards. But all I can picture is me sticking one and it running thru one of the yards with the people in it with my Luminock bobbing along and then the deer falls over in the yard. I have killed deer there before, but not with that much activity in the yards. It was total torture as the deer fed off and 2 new ones showed up and ate for a while. Then they left and the original 6 came back for the second course. There still were people out on the decks of 2 houses so I passed again. Finally the 6 left again and I climbed down a little before dark just so I could see and not spook any of the deer and hopefully come back another day when no one is out partying. Maybe I can sneak in there after work some evening this week.
Saturday Morning can't come soon enough here in PA! I'm real optimistic about my opportunities for a shooter with what I've got on camera and excited to see what the Rut will bring. The early season may be just for a doe and sightseeing, but if either of the 4X's come through it'll be hard to hold off... but I'll try... Did anyone in our group make it to PA Bowhunter festival last week in Sullivan County?
I was finally able to get out to my property to check cams Sunday. I was extremely happy to see my Droptine target buck show up on cam finally. I hope I can catch this guy during shooting hours though. I will post up a few more of the other bucks I will be pursuing on the property.
Thats Great! Did you hunt him last year? He's a good size deer! Hope you get a chance to draw back on him!!
Yes I seen him last year at 125 yards but he seemed to be alot smaller then. I hope I see him in shooting range this year.
Here is 2 more shooters I got. They just happen to be in front of the stand I will be hunting opening day.
