Nice pics! We're not allowed to "feed the deer" in any way around here. Up north they can. WI has some weird rules around the state. It would be nice if everything was state wide. In IL where I used to hunt you could have licks up to one month before the season started. What are the rules in MO?

You can have feeding stations up to 10 days before you hunt. I don't use corn to feed my deer. I think it is more detrimental where I hunt. We do have 3-4 acres of food plots planted in Eagle brand soybeans and sorghum. Mineral sites aren't considered baiting in Missouri. I've seen one family of does hit a mineral site while I was in stand. Most of the time they hit during early spring through summer but once fall comes not nearly as much.

What's the report from the WI hunters opening weekend?

I made it out Sunday morning and didn't see a thing. The afternoons were too freakin hot!

Thanks Todd, I plan on being in my stand on Saturday. Not expecting much but if the opportunity presents itself I'll take down a doe.

Red, nice looking bucks! It's only a 2 hour drive if you need a helping hand to drag that beast out. Lol.

I went out today and let my buddy hunt the best spot on the property cuz he has never shot a deer. This morning he got his first and with a bow to boot. He spined it at 10 yards and then put another arrow in it right through the vitals. It was a little 3 pointer that I would have past, but since it was his first deer I dont blame him. The rage actually severed the spine in 2. and the follow up shot left a big entrance and exit. I didnt see anything, but one squirrel. It was a short hunt for me...lol

Wisconsin opener kinda sucked, I sat out both days, sat and sun and saw 2 deer. One doe and a yearling. Hopefully now that its starting to cool a little the deer will start moving.

Nice looking wraps englum. I plan on being in the woods for my first hunt tomorrow morning. The forecast says its going to be 48 degrees and zero wind. Should be a good morning. Good luck guys. Hopefully have something to show tomorrow.

I was out last eve and just a couple more steps out into the clearing and we would have been on the board w/ 50 pts. Oh well, I was happy to see a few deer around my location and get the blood pumping again.

Went out Saturday morning. Didn't see a deer, didn't even bump a deer. Too much corn is up around the spot I was hunting. Heard the turkey's in there and they were going crazy. I probably won't be out again until 3rd week of October.

Haven't had this deer on camera this year. He has some good character with his split brow tines. As you can see he is already scraping and hitting the licking branch. Might be the earliest I've ever got this on camera. Usually I set the camera's up after I find a scrape so this is a first for me.

Hey Deano, glad you had a good time. One of the guys (Cougar Mag) is interested in getting a linemans belt. I told him to look into you/shoot you a PM.

    Good Luck!

Haven't been out again but if the temps keep dropping like they are it will be hard for those leaves to stay on the trees.
