Glad to hear Michael that everything went good with the surgery.

As for my hunting this fall I'd really like a crack at the buck I had encounters with the last year. If he's still alive he's gotta be a 160's+ buck this year. I had trail cams out for 2 weeks In late July this year and got pics of a few decent bucks. A couple looked to be 130" class bucks. I'm really hoping to see the big guy though. Yesterday my 3 year old daughter and I went out and made 4 mock scrapes using Buck Fever Synthetic Scents. I put a trail camera on each mock scrape. I can't wait to check the camera when I get back from Colorado at the end of September. I'll post some pics up then If I've got some shooters showing up at the scrapes.

Good luck to everyone this year. May your season be a safe and successful one.

Thanks for the wishes. If I can get "elky" We will be in the top 5 for sure. I stalked a buck on my property last year that everyone calls "elky" last year the DNR guessed he was pushing about 230" typical. But they say they only see him once a year. All I know is last year his rack was as wide as my bow !

Hey folks....sorry for the late checkin. I'll be out there staring in early Oct hoping to add some points for our team! I hunt VA & WV both. Haven't seen any good bucks yet this year to speak of, but I'm sure there are a few around. Found a nice matched set of sheds last week out behind my house...laying 3 ft apart. About an 85" 8pt, nice young buck. Hopefully he grew a good bit and I can bump in to him this fall. First set of shed's I've ever found...and I wasn't even looking for them. LOL

Steve...I sure hope you get that buck from last year...he'll be a hammer no doubt!

I won't be around as much this year on the site due to several factors, but I'll be out there as much as I can be. Good luck to everyone...sounds like we have a nice team shaping up!

    Mike

Hey guys. I did a bit of scouting at Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge this past weekend. I got drawn for a 3 day hunt there. It is likely to the best opportunity I've had in my life to kill a big buck. I found a pretty nice rub line and creek crossing I'll be setting up on. I also have a few nice spots picked out on my lease so I should be able to put more than 50 doe points on the board for us.
