The big boys are still coming in a couple times a week and this funky youngster showed up.

Here's a new one that showed up. I named him Freak9. Technically he has 10 cause of a small drop tine on the right side I didn't see at first. Still none on my hit list though. Good ones for my 10 year old grandson though. 20170901_172445.jpg

I think this is the biggest framed buck I have on camera so far. I'm guessing he's around 120" 8 point. Still not on my list yet though. But the later we get into the fall, the bucks are getting bigger. So what do you guys think he scores. 20170903_180211.jpg

I suck at scoring them on the hoof...but I love to try. I'd sure think he's pushing 120. 85+3+3+8+8+6+6=119?

Picking up a lone wolf assault 2 today. It basically cuts the weight in half from my current stand. First lock on stand I've owned.

Checked the backyard camera yesterday and the last couple night this guy came in. Not sure if it's coincidence that I just made 4 mock scrapes using the tinks scrape starter or if he liked the smell of the sweet 12 i poured over my mineral stump

Great looking bucks so far everyone. I won't be pulling cards until Thursday morning when I finally get home and hit the woods for the first hunt of the year. 3 more days an a wake up.

Have you guys seen Mossy Oak Eclipse? I saw some today at Walmart and the stuff looks decent. I might try a sweatshirt, but I can't see spending the money for a whole suit that only gets worn in the blind.

Well I googled it and it looks pretty sweet for blind hunting tbh. I'm done with big purchases for this year so I feel ya on just trying a sweat shirt. Man I was drooling over some Sitka gear earlier today but came to my senses. 450 on a stand, fall restraint harness and steps. I still feel bad. Do you do a lot of blind hunting and what blind do you use?

I have 1 blind and 8 stands, so probably not enough blind hunting to warrant special camo right now. I plan to do more blind hunting as my daughter gets involved though.
