Just got my bear back from 2015. Now I just need to take a little walk to find a paper wasp nest. Sent from my XT1254 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Well guys, season ended yesterday here. I had high hopes this year, but it wasn't in the cards I guess. I wish I could have contributed to the points department, but I did enjoy getting to know you guys. The property I leased for the past two seasons really turned out to suck pretty bad and I won't be on it next year, yet I did find other spots that will be awesome with time. I did see more deer this year from the stand than ever before just couldn't connect. I'm sure I'll see you all around the forum! Take it easy fellas.
I've got one week left here in Ohio. Just put out a nice big corn pile. I'm going to give it a couple days then give it one last hoorah. Anyone else still after a buck or meat for the freezer?
Heading out to try again this last week of the season. I'll be out every evening between Tuesday and Sunday until I get one!!!!!
Saw 18 deer tonight. Almost had shots on 3 of them but too many eyes. Wasn't able to pull a shot off. None of the 18 had racks. They were either all does/ button bucks, or maybe a few that's dropped their rack already. Round 2 will be this evening.
Best of luck Shawn. Man it feels like an eternity since my season ended. Sent from my SM-G935V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Thanks man! I'm going to need it. I didn't get out Wednesday evening due to fixing a leaky tub/shower. What was suppose to be changing a couple O rings turned out to be a couple hour job and completely changing shower head, spigot for tub and both knobs for hot and cold. I plan on getting out now every evening until I get one more. Season closes Sunday.
Round 2. Almost 30 degrees warmer but much windier and no snow. Think I'd prefer colder and no wind, but I'm taking what it gives me. I freshened up the corn pile, it was annihilated. First decent sized deer I get a chance at is gonna have a bad night.
I shot at a doe last night at 20 yards and my arrow blew up after I shot it. Round 3 this evening. Temps will be 0 or below with wind chills.
Today is your day! Super bad luck with that arrow blowing up on you. I just bought a house or I'd be out too trying to kill one more doe. I'll be waiting for the trophy pics this evening!
I saw 8 last night but no luck. 2 more evenings left. I've seen the deer and had a stroke of bad luck with that arrow blowing up. I still feel pretty good about my chances.
Didn't see anything but an opossum Saturday evening. One day left but I'm not sure if I'm going or not. Superbowl Sunday, weather might be bad. I'll let you know.
I'd say all things considered, 9th in the contest is a pretty good finish. I had a great time! Good luck next year!
No, I really wanted to but I was kinda burned out, it was Super Bowl Sunday and my freezer is not lacking. Now next season starts and I know of by trail cam pics of 5 good shooter prospects for next year. Enjoyed this season with you all and look forward to maybe being team mates next season.
It was a blast! I wish I could've contributed, but it was good getting to know you all in a virtual sense. I have good prospects for next year and am dropping the lease I was on. That place was a real disappointment. This was my second season in MO since moving here. It takes some time, and I cannot wait till October!
I noticed not all of our deer are entered on the score card. Jack flap's buck is not on there. Not sure if any other ones are missing. I didn't go back through our entire thread. Anyone notice if all our other deer were entered?
