MFDC4965.JPG these 2 where from July also. This one will be a shooter for sure. Saw a monster buck last night a couple miles down the road. Tried to get some footage but he took off . Might try to ask permission to hunt it.

Isn't it cedar? They rub a pine telephone pole at one of my properties!

Do a search in the forum. There was a thread a couple weeks ago talking about mock rubbing posts that was good.

Headed to the lease today to pull cards and move a ladder stand to the west of the property. If I have any good pics I'll post them.

Cabelas shopping spree today! Bow hanger, pull-up rope, dryer sheets, scent elimination spray, active scrape and Scent Lok hat/mask. I think I'm ready now.

Well nothing to report from the lease. I did get a ladder stand moved and cut some lanes. It's on the outskirts of the property for early season scouting and doe opportunities (maybe a coyote or two), and I'll be leaving the deep spots for good weather/wind only. It's where open field meets the corn crop.
One of the main guys on the lease informed me that another duck hunter wants to bow hunt for deer this year (and apparently assumed he could use my stands). He is supposed to reach out to me, but he has already been informed that I am on that lease for the very reason of being the only deer hunter on it. There really aren't many places to actually hunt, and if you make a mistake, then it is bye bye big dogs. Long story short...I'm making contingency plans. I have 40 acres behind me that is land locked and loaded with deer. Time to ask permission!

Been there, unfortunately a few times.

Good luck and hopefully his interest wanes.

That stinks! I refuse to hunt 2 of my properties because there were already established hunters on them. I get my (state mandated) permission slip signed by the owners every year, but I'm really just waiting for the other guys to move on.

Yeah it sucks...the whole thing rubbed me the wrong way. So I do a ton of work, and this guy just assumes it's cool? Telling ya, men, the world is full of crazy these days. I think he'll lose interest. Their are 2 original guys on the lease, and one of them tells me this ya-hoo barely even duck hunts, so I'm hoping he won't actually follow through.

I would actually take that 10:1 over the guy who uses your stand, shoots a nice buck and you hear about it at the local gas station. You nailed it...crazy.

Does are already busting me. I just let the dog out back and a doe started blowing at us from 50 yards away. She was probably mad that I haven't put out "apple corn" in a few days.

Man it poured rain here last night. I had put down a new mineral site, so I needed it to get a good soak. We had flash flood warnings all evening, and I bet the creek at my lease was out of its banks again.

Same here. My plot got .48" earlier, and will probably get that much again tonight. I guess my rain dance worked!

Looks like we got between 5 and 6 inches over the past 24 hours according to NWS website.
