Going after Highway 9 in the morning. Should be a calm, cool, crisp, frosty morning. My favorite kind.
I'm feeling the grind this morning. I was tempted to keep sleeping but I'm headed in to the stand. Good luck guys. Sent from my SM-G935V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Unfortunately, he wasn't killed by me. He was killed by my cousin from Georgia who comes up here every year during the rut and hunts on the family farm. I do all the work, put in the blood sweat and tears and he comes up, hunts in my spots and kills my target buck. This is the second time he's done this in the last 7 or 8 years. Think I'm a little pissed!!!!! I can congratulate him and grin and bear it but I'm burning on the inside. Just feels like my insides were ripped apart I'm so mad.
Man, that sucks! I was bummed when the neighbor shot a giant 2 years ago, but at least he had his own property, stands, etc. I couldn't imagine if he was killed out of my stand. I feel for you!
Unfortunately since I don't own it personally, it's family owned there's nothing I can do or say about it. Tried that once and I was told if I don't like it I can find other places to hunt.
That sucks Shawn. I feel your pain. I have had similar situations on my family farm and as a result haven't hunted it in many years. In hind sight, I'm not sure that my decision was the right one...but I'm stubborn and won't go back now. Sounds like you have made the right call so far. Hopefully, your next sit rewards your efforts with a bruiser. Sent from my XT1254 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
The thing that gets me is I do everything there, with no help from anyone and they tell me I have to let my relatives hunt any time they want unless I'm already in a stand, then they have to go to a different spot. Overall it's been good. I have killed several nice bucks and does I can't even count but a buck I'm targeting and have pictures 3 years running. That just really bites. Maybe a thank you would be nice but I don't even get that. He didn't even have the courtesy to tell me. That picture came from my neighbor. It makes him mad too, cause he works his property and we pretty much hunt the same deer.
That really sucks bad. Like a friend of mine always says, family will F ya. Sorry it worked out that way. Sent from my SM-G935V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I will be borrowing your friends line. Thanks for the material. Sent from my XT1254 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Out on the other property this evening. Feel like popping the first lucky deer that walks past me, even though I probably won't. There is a high heavy 9 out here I'm after. Hopefully no ones got him yet.
That was all I saw. My son had a run in with a nice 10 point at about 10 yards but he never went into his shooting lane. 3 times he came in same direction and stopped about 3 steps short every time.
Saw nothing but I believe I'm set up in more of a morning spot. Find out in the morning. Lol Sent from my SM-G935V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Going out in the morning, just not sure where yet. I know there are other nice bucks on the family farm but I'm just still steaming about that.
