Team 18 - Does Be Trippin'

I'll be out in the morning fellas. 28 ish degrees and a NE wind. Perfect for the stand that I saw the big fella out of.

 

I'll be heading out in the morning as well. Hoping for a good one. I'll pretty much be hunting solid all the way through next Tuesday or Wednesday.

 

Scored my buck from Saturday, 109 4/8 with the broken G2. I’ll get him posted to the scorecard thread tonight

 

This weekend is youth hunt. I’ll have my boys out, oldest is refusing to take a gun because he wants to get his first bow kill and my 11 year old will be out with the 20 gauge. Hopefully I can put them both on deer

 

Well, my rut vaca is officially over. 47.5 hours in the field, 6 bucks totalling ~400" and 2 does. I'm going to fight through 3 days at work and then hit it hard again this weekend.

 

I like his way of thinking. My son has 1 kill with a gun and 12 with a bow. His first few were with a bow. I made him take a gun once just so he could say he killed one with a gun, lol.

 

So far I've seen just a doe and a fawn. The doe stopped and looked back a few times but no buck, at least not yet.

 

Just put my 2nd doe down. Going to let her lay til about 9:30. Hoping a nice big buck comes by between now and then.

 

Going on the track job here in a few minutes. I'll update you as soon as I can.

 

Tracked her to a property I couldn't cross. Figured it was a low briscut hit. White hair on ground, bled pretty good but no bubbles in blood. Those briscut shots can fool you if you don't know what you are looking for. She will probably live another day.

 

Congrats! Getting it done today! I'll be out filming for my buddy this afternoon.

 

Didnt find her. Tracked her to a different property and had to stop.

 

So what are the odds that this is the same buck. I actually shot him in 2015 but knew it was pretty much a flesh wound. I believe the first picture he was 3 1/2. Now he's obviously 5 1/2.

Paid the price for getting here a little late. Already spooked one. Looked like a doe was coming up to feed. She saw me and blew and took off.

 

So had a doe and a fawn come in just before I got down so I had an extended stay in the stand. Checked camera again and Highway 9 made another day time appearance on Sunday but my wife said no hunting this Sunday. He also made several other appearances over the course of the 4 days of pictures.

 

The actual time is 3:44 cause the clock on the camera didn't get moved back.

 

Sorry man. I didn't read your post very well obviously. Hopefully she lives and you'll get her another day. It's amazing how tough they are.

 

Drew a blank fellas. Back at it in the morning and I got permission to hunt some property and the massive buck on it. Spotted him yesterday.
