It was really weird, because somehow I managed to uninstall the BH.com app without knowing it. So I needed to wait to get home to get it reinstalled. Sent from my XT1254 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Hey Jason...question about your buck's score. An 8 point shouldn't have a G4 score. Did you accidentally count the tip of the main beam as another point? If so, the score is closer to 117 1/8. Let me know and I'll have Fitz make the correction.
Huge congrats but double check your measurements...an 8 point will have a G1 (brow) and a G2 and G3...but not a G4. Congrats again though brother, inches in the end don't make the trophy.
Not miserable, just shook up. The only way i was able to hunt was too plug the nose up. I did what i could to stay in the woods
One time I was pulling my bow up with my draw rope and when I went to grab it somehow it slipped and I reached to grab it. It caught onto my left index finger and it popped it completely sideways. I knew it was dislocated. I'm an x-ray tech, so I grabbed it, popped it back in and continued to hunt. My finger was swollen and painful but it was the rut. Not long after shooting light a nice buck strolled in and I put him down. The things us bow hunters do just to hopefully shoot a deer, lol!
Anyone out there today? I am not this morning and probably won't be in the evening either. After today though it should be pretty smooth sailing. Shouldn't have any thing else interfering with my hunting vacation.
Anybody ever puke from 20ft? A few weeks ago I got sick right after pulling my bow up. I was glad I had that harness on for sure. I ended up getting down while I had the energy to. It hit me again before I made it back to the truck. That was a first for me. Not fun
Calling in deer left and right this weekend just waiting on a shoot. But it's been crazy in the wood.
Same here, but no shooters. I have seen the most deer in a 3 day weekend stretch than I ever have in the past. Of course I was in NC most of my life. This Missouri hunting is a-mazing. I will try to get out some in the evenings this week before the clocks roll back.
I will get him on the score card tomorrow I hope. But this is what I came up with. Sent from my XT1254 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I was wondering if the 13 1/2 was the inside spread? Also, all bucks are scored with 4 circumference measurements on both sides. I noticed you only have 3. The Boone and Crockett website has it where you plug in the numbers and it does everything. It also tells you how to get the 4th circumference measurement on deer that are less than 10 points. Just follow their directions, it's real easy.
So it gives me the 1/2 way between g3 and end of main beam for the fourth circumference...but doesn't cover what to do for the odd side where there is no G3. I would assume it may be a case of 2 x the half way measurement...but am looking for some guidance. That was a good catch Shawn, I'm pretty sure I did the same thing last year and no one caught it. For odd sized antlers you take 4 measurements starting with the base. Then if you have any G's you obviously do the same as a typical antler. You do the other measurements an equal distance apart from your last measurement. Example, if you have a base measurement and a G1, you would then need 2 more measurements an equal distance apart. So if the rest of the beam is 8 inches after the H2 measurement you would go up about 2 3/4 inches and get your H3. Same for the H4.
