First time on camera so not really. He is now tho. Lol. Bucks pass through this time of year on that property. It's like Christmas.

Didn't get the move done yet, however, I did manage to get back out this evening. When I got to my stand a little buck was standing there. This spot has had a lot of doe activity this past week according to trail cam pics. My hope is tonight there is a big boy in tow.

Checking in guys. Had a pretty rough weekend to be honest.
Friday night my dad picked me up to head up to the cabin, Well ended up leaving my side-arm and duffel bag of clothes in the hallway of my apartment. Didnt realize it until 2 hours later. UGH. Thank god my mom was able to zip over there and find it for me before it was all stolen.

Saturday morning I hunted a ladder stand over-looking a mock scrape. Never saw a deer that morning. At about 8am my stomach did not like me and I had to haul ass back to the cabin. Made it to the out-house by about 10 seconds. Ended up sneaking back to the stand for another hour though.

Saturday night hunted my main rut spot/best spot. Decided to take in my heavy 16ft tree sticks that you stack together and ratchet strap to the tree. Thought it would be nice so I could just leave it their the next 2 weeks. Then all I need to go in with is my hang on. Well, I had them all stacked up and stood them up and got it up next to the tree. I leaned over to get the 1st stap and when I looked up the top 4 ft stick fell off and drilled me right in the face. Didnt go to the doctor yet and not sure if i will but my nose looks broke or fractured. It knocked me down and then was spraying blood everywhere. Rough weekend needless to say. Took 15 mins to get the nose plugged up with kleenex that I keep in my pack. Got the stand up and hunted...... never saw a deer.

Sunday Morning (Today) Got in the stand prior to sun up and had a good hunt. Ended up seeing 12+ deer. Does and 3 bucks. 1 was a definite shooter even though I didnt get a good look at him. Think he was the new 8 point that just showed up the last 2 weeks on camera. (I'll post the picture either tonight or tomorrow)

    I'll be back out Thursday-Sunday

Sat in my truck tonight and watched an uncut bean field. I saw 4 bucks and zero does. Two small bucks and 2 studs. The two studs squared off for a min before the bigger buck ran the other back into the standing corn, then he turned and walked within 15 yds of one of my stands. It's kind of bitter sweet tagging on a buck prior to the rut. I'm glad I was in my truck watching the action and didn't have to pass that buck from my stand.

A pretty BA move for sure. Way to let nothing get in the way of a good hunt.

So, how did things go? I'm guessing not good. Were you able to track him very far?

So after Missing the stud early in the sit a deer that I had encounters with a couple times this fall snuck in behind me. I saw him first when he was at 20 yrds. He traveled behind my stand and presented a 15 yrd shot. The shot was not a pass through as it was a steep quartering shot that hit a lung and the opposite side rear leg. I have a real soft spot for the crazy, and this one fits the bill. IMG_20171029_150040855.jpg IMG_20171029_183352993.jpg
