Move isn't quite done yet, but I'm still hitting the stand in the morning. Haven't been out in almost a week. Should be a good one.

 

Headed out to the lease. I've had lots of action and passed up several deer waiting on a shooter. I have not seen one buck that was on camera early season. They are just cruising through. Now I just need a bruiser to do that. Good luck fellas.

That would not end well at all for me. I've tried that on the target, One time lol. I now keep a backup release that doesn't come out of my pack.

 

Why do u think u missed? Just pulled the shot? Estimated wrong yardage?

 

I tried one time without the release and I couldn't even see my peep. Wasn't good.

 

Shot thinking 30-ish yrds...was more like 42. Saw the lighted nock clear his belly. He stood in field for 15 minutes wondering what happened. Then just went back the way he came.

 

Just had a little buck walk less than 5 yards past my stand. Grunted him right in.

 

I have an extra release in my pack...in the jeep. I packed light today.

 

Blood has been spilled. Certainly not the biggest deer on the farm, but I love a freak. Marginal shot. Probably take up the trail around noon.

 

Good luck finding him! Had an encounter with this little guy on my way out. Gotta take a couple more hours and try and finish up moving. Then back out this evening.

 

Heck yeah! Keep us posted. I'm back at the house making bacon and eggs. Lol. Trying to thaw out.

Just got down. Marked first blood and found 1/2 my arrow. Nice bright red blood. Because of shot angle, probably going to be a pretty sparse trail. Backed out, coming back in at noon.
