I couldn't find my arrow. So, I went back in the afternoon and looked again. After carefully scanning the area I saw what appeared to be a stick sticking straight up out of the ground. Upon closer examination I noticed it was my arrow. The strange thing about this is the broadhead was up in the air and the fletchings end of the arrow was probably between 1 and 2 inches deep in the ground. Has anyone ever seen an arrow like that after you shot a deer? Thought that was really strange.
I haven’t been hunting much but plots look good and lots of small bucks on cam. Hopefully some good ones show in the nxt couple weeks Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Ok guys, I really need to get back out there. I am off this weekend, but we are having 4 grandkids stay from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening. I'd like to sneak a hunt or 2 in those evenings and maybe Sunday morning. Next week we are getting ready to move, but again, I'd like to sneak in a hunt here and there.
Yeah I have the kids this weekend but I'm going Sunday morning at least. Sounds like you are super busy, Shawn. I hate moving! The following weekend is all mine tho and I'm headed to public land to stick a doe and who knows what else. It has some real bruiser on it. I told my wife when we bought this house it's going to affect my hunting time and she said she knows I'll still be hunting. So, when she gets mad at me I'll remind her of that, lol!!!!!
I made it to the stand as well with one little hitch. Forgot I was practicing the other day and have field points on. How bad is that? Guess I'll have to make a pin point shot!!!!!
Damn Shawn. I don't think I'd try that. I don't see that ending well. And if your luck is anything like mine, you will definitely see a giant buck today.
That's what I'm afraid of. Thinking maybe I'll just sit here and enjoy the evening. See what comes by.
Have 4 solid sits coming my way this weekend. Told the family this week that I my weekends are unavailable til December. I'll give a little on that I'm sure, but ya gotta leave negotiating room.
It is dead calm here. It's going to be tough to get it done from this tripod stand I'm in. It's only about 12ft. Last time I was here I got busted moving by a doe. Just over an hour left here.
Well, as luck would have it the big combine just rolled past me 50 yards from my stand. Probably won't be seeing much of anything anyways. Harvesting the bean field.
