Had a pretty good sized buck in front of me from about 6:45 til 7:00 this morning. Couldn't really make out what he was. 5 to 10 more minutes probably would of had a shot on him. A little later I had a nice 2 year old 8 point come in, probably around 110". Then this huge bodied button buck which I thought was a doe and almost shot but let up when I noticed his nubs. Not sure when I'll get back out. Maybe Thursday evening but not sure.
Apparently I'm fighting off some sort of virus since mid day yesterday. I'm currently at work and feel like a sack of ass. Doing all the things to not get full blown sick here, and have plans to hunt several times before next Wed. I hate getting sick.
Went out this morning. It was pretty slow, had a 1-1/2 yr old come above my stand (on a steep side hill) at about 10 yrds. Cool to get a close look at a good young prospect for future years. Also saw a mystery deer feeding under oaks on the horizon, didn't see horns.
Checked cameras on my way out. Not too encouraging. Mostly nocturnal activity. But thought this one was cool.
I may be able to get in an evening hunt tonight. Depends on how work goes in the next couple of hours.
Not sure if it's the angle on that last pic, but he looks pretty wide. Plus daylight showing=very cool.
Well I'm in the stand. The same stand where I missed the big buck Sunday evening. The farmer is combining the beans right now. I had to take a guess on which way he would go. It's a giant Field. Hoping to take a doe this evening.
It looks good for Thursday evening. Should rain most of the day then quit around 4 or 5. Should make for a good evening hunt. I also found out the piebald fawn has a piebald mother. According to pictures they are frequenting every couple days. Thursday evening should be their day.
It is youth hunt weekend in WI. I will be taking my 10 yr old out, for his first time. Should be a blast.
Hmmm...I'm no help on that one. I own a '14 that might need covers in the near future, so lemme know what you land on if you don't mind.
Theres a few companies that make some great seat covers. Just depends on what you wanna spend. Sent from my XT1585 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Same here. I may be getting access to another spot either today or this weekend. Hoping! A monster has been spotted in daylight on this property and nobody is hunting it. I sure can solve both those problems.
I have started looking around for a set for my '16 Ram, but haven't found the right set yet. I like a set made by Fia, but without seeing the fit up I'm a little up unsure. There is nothing worse than climbing into a truck with covers and the fit is loose and sloppy.
