Yes that is plenty. Key is Shot placement. I shoot 53-54 pounds DW out of my Halon 6 and getting pass throughs using the Rage Hypodermic +P
Well I went out again yesterday, hiking to the top of Bald Mt. in hopes of running into the bachelor group we were on the first night. Saw a few mulies but couldn't get close enough (cattle tipped them off). There were lots of elk tracks in the fresh mud. But as the sun set, we were on our way home. Ended up pulling in the driveway a few minutes ago. We had a blast and saw some beautiful country. We learned a lot about stalking/still hunting. But now it is time to return to our tree stands on familiar grounds. Probably won't make it out tonight though it's tempting to do a card pull/sit. Coyote den... Bald Mt.
I got drenched yesterday morning. The rain was supposed to push out around first light...it did not. I didn't see anything apart from a very curious fox squirrel who I believe wanted to jump in my lap. One of the more miserable hunts in memory, and I wasn't exactly prepared for getting that soaked. I ended up cold, wet, and disappointed, but I did stay on stand about an hour after the rain quit around 9 am. I'll be back out as soon as I can when the weather and work permits.
It doesn't look like I'll get back out for about 11 days. I have the 7th through 10th of Oct off as well to hunt and will do some public land hunts. If you guys get out, good luck.
I hear ya, I'm looking at 11 days myself... Seriously, why do people schedule family events during hunting season?
They didn't get the memo!? Well it is supposed to be hot here for the next week or so, and that makes it a little better.
I got rained out of work, so I checked a few cameras. Zero bucks in the last 2 weeks! I might sit my little plot of oats on opening morning since it's getting hit pretty regularly. Is it the 30th yet???
All does on mine for two weeks also. Looks like at least 3 of us have plans to be in the woods the 30th!
The extended forecast for the 30th looks good here in NE Ohio. Highs will go from the 80's next week down to mid 60's starting Thursday and continue through the weekend.
I'll be hunting Kentucky Saturday evening and Sunday morning. Then my season here in Ohio starts the 30th. I still haven't got everything done here, but I'm close.
Awesome! I saw a nice piebald 8 point and a doe last year on my drive to work. During the off season, I got permission to hunt 50 acres next door.
So my amazing wife is hand stitching the final touches on a cowl. I'll get more photos later. I hate wearing hoods while hunting but never seem to find jackets or pullovers with enough collar to pull over my face and neck when it is bitter cold. This thing will. Wool liner in a crocheted wool and alpaca exterior. So the line forms over there and get your orders in now cuz this is the latest and greatest folks. For the thing not the wife. Lol. She's mine and one of a kind. Sent from my SM-G935V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Looks like upper 80's this weekend so most likely wont get out yet. Its starting to get to me not being able to get in a tree. Granted I could go, but just dont like going when its so stinkin warm out. My cameras have been out for 4 weeks now and most likely wont check my main ones till I hunt the spot. By the time I check some of them it will be Mid-late October so should have a lot of pictures to go through prior to the rut and really tell me where to go.
Went out opening morning and saw nothing. Sunday I heading up to my bear hunt where I am currently on stand. Weather conditions arent the best and ive only seen 2 small bear. Only have 2 more hunts after this one to get it done.
