I need to find a place to hunt in Kentucky. Seeing deer on the ground a month before my season opens is killing me.
No all day sit. I did hear a few turkeys gobbling. I'll be back out this evening, this will be my last chance. I may come back down for a weekend hunt before the Ohio season starts.
Pretty sweet looking spot! Thanks for sharing, and I look forward to following the results as season goes on.
Pretty good last night. Upper 60's, overcast, slight breeze. Now I just need the deer to cooperate!!!!!
Well guys around 7 oclock a nice big doe stepped out. After toying around with me for like 10 minutes of head bobbing, stomping, and high stepping she turned and started walking away. I stood up put the pin on her and nailed her hard. I heard her crash in the woods. I went and got my buddy we looked around a bit but to no avail. We are going back out in the morning to look for her but I have to head back home no later than noon. I have to work tomorrow night. I will keep you updated on what happens. It's pretty thick in there and it sounded like she went 40-50 yards max then crashed hard. Just hope we find her.
As soon as I nailed her she tucked her tail hard let out like a loud gasp, and took off like a bolt of lightning. I heard her run through the woods for about 4 or 5 seconds. There was a pretty loud crashing sound then some rustling then nothing, dead silence. I'm sure she's down just a matter of finding her. It's so stinking thick in there. I was hoping she would of ran the other way. When they run like that I call it the death run.
Hope the recovery goes well this morning Shawn. Sent from my XT1254 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Wow...maybe on the board with 50? Hope the recovery goes well. That's never fun being up against a timeline to leave and still looking for a deer.
