My buddy spooked a huge doe in his stand and all I saw was that velvet 6. I'll be back at it in the morning.

IMG_2879.JPG My name is David and I am a jersey/pa bow hunter . I live very close to the line so I hunt both states and usually shoot at least one really nice buck every year. I also video most of my hunts:) I am also going into my first year having a certified blood tracking dog for deer.when hunters can not pick up the blood trail they call a hotline to find the closest tracker to them and we come out with a leased dog and track there deer.I am really excited about shooting a deer Saturday and having my pup find his first deer:)

Hey guys, I trimmed some fat off a doe this morning. She was very antsy. I was antsy. It was a pretty easy shot but I had early season jitters, rushed the shot, and gave her a fat trim. Hoping next time out will be better results.

Shake it off. Lots of time to go. I'm just happy for you that you are getting some time on the stand, and I know I'm looking forward to it myself.

I usually go through this in the early season every year, lol. At first I thought I completely missed but when I got my arrow I saw a few hairs on it and it had that greasy feeling to it. Saw a couple small chunks of fat but no blood at all.

Glad to hear you have been seeing some. Hang in there...now that the jitters are out of the way it's going to happen.

Saw a buck, 2 does and a fawn this evening. No shots. I'll be hunting a different stand in the morning.

The weather here is fantastic. It cooled off so much here over the last 24 hours, and I really thought the deer would be moving this evening and went for a drive to see if any were out. Didn't see a damn one. But it is a full moon, so they may move after dark. I was surprised. Good luck in the different spot in the morning, Shawn. There is a live from the stand thread in bow hunting talk section if you are interested. It's pretty fun. Meanwhile, I continue to wait.

By the way I shot more today and have a peep twist bugging me. Tried to adjust the D loop, but it just persisted. I just had new strings put on in July and suppose they are stretching, but it is really annoying. I'm calling my tech tomorrow to see if he can fit me in to work with me in fixing it since he may need to put it in the press and take a twist out. Till then I'll keep shooting and moving the D loop as needed, but it's frustrating to say the least. Other than not having a clear sight picture, I shot well out to 40 and feel comfortable.

Ah yes I was pretty vague. Go back a page to see the nice velvet buck one of them smoked. Hell of a deer.
