That buck is a bruiser! I should be out tomorrow after work if it doesnt rain as well as Thursday and saturday afternoons. No Sunday hunting so most of my sits are after work when I can slide out an hour early

Well went to hunt the other farm and wasn’t impressed. Something has happened since last year. There were a bunch of up and comers and even checked trail cameras that haven’t been checked for over a month and just the same little bucks and does. Either EHD or coyotes or the neighbors clear cutting idk. Passed on this guy this morning [IMG]
After seeing him on hoof he is not mature and needs at least one more year. He was grunting around and pushed off a small doe. And I saw a bobcat

That is a bummer about the decline but at least there were some good looking up and comers, that one buck looks like when he puts on some body mass he will be a bruiser! My uncle sat one of our sets this morning until about 1pm, deep in a state forrest. He didnt see anything but said there is a new rub and a huge scrape. That spot is tough since it is a lot of scrub pine and not much in the way of forrage. He went to some private land he has access to for an afternoon sit and bumped a spike on the way out though so they are in there! A friend of mine killed a really good doe on Saturday on private property, ended up being the same doe his brother had shot a touch high on Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon.

Well get ready cuz seems like a synchronized rut this year. Last Friday I’d seen ton more buck sign and activity. That one I passed today tried pushing a 11/2 yr old doe and was grunting.things are heating up. Temp right now is 60 and suppose to drop to 35 tonight so I’m going after the only shooter I’ve seen this year at the other property.I tried some rattling and grunting late this morning but nothing bit

Its absolutley pouring here so I will get out after work tomorrow and Friday. Was planning on sitting saturday but it will be pouring rain and blowing 20+mph. First deer within range is getting shot! Havent had a deer within range in 2 seasons so I am long over due!

I just really don’t want to mess with another deer right now lol. My boy has a special control hunt this weekend so I’m sure I’ll get to clean another at some point this weekend. I’ll kill my doe (or 2nd buck) in the next few weeks.

I'm taking the weekend off. I'll go out to my spot to check camera and redo my mock scrape. Maybe scout a new area that I believe the bucks are coming from but that's it. I'll be back out the following weekend to do a two day hunt. I'm also taking the wednesday and friday around thanksgiving off so i'll get a 4 day hunt during that time. I should be able to get something down by then.

Going out in the morning. I work nights so it’s pretty rough going to bed at 2 am and getting up at 5am, I need the following day to recoup. Saturday is supposed to rain so Friday is the day!

Keep at it, that time of the year is almost here. Saw one small doe today and a few new scrapes on my way in. Almost that magical time. I am hunting with my uncle tomorrow in a state forrest, new rub and a few scrapes showed up near my stand in there so I'm optimistic. This weekend I will probably hang a set across the road from my house under cover of all this rain we are getting. Lets do it team 18!

Well I havnt been able to hunt much this year since I work 6 days a week but on Saturday the 20th I got out to bowhunt on the private property I have permission to hunt. It was super windy , 40mph winds. I watched a buck get spooked by something in the wind and came running out of the woods and down the field edge towards me across the field from me. I watched him bed on the field edge in the tall grass next to a downed tree. I watched him bedded with my binos for about 1.5 hours at 165 yards. When the does and fawns came out he got up and started to chase a doe fawn around. He eventually pushed the does right to me in my ground hunting spot and then he walked up tp 25 yards from me. I shot him and I blood trailed him and he ran into the neighbors woods ... well bad news is they will not allow me to recover the buck:bash: Pretty sure he is dead there was tons of blood every where. This part really sucks they would rather let him lay there and rot than let me recover him !!!!!!! Here is a trail cam photo I have of him, he isnt a giant buck but the land owners want the deer killed. So Ill be back at it this saturday and I may go bowhunt some public land .
    Safe hunting Team :deer:

Check to see if your state allows trespassing if you are trailing a hunted animal. Some states dont require you to get permission when trailing game you shot.

Lady Forge that sucks! Why are people like that?

I saw 7 deer this morning, five in the dark, and two after I got out of my treestand. I was freezing I stayed as long as I could but my feet were burning from cold, 28 degrees. When I got out of the tree I put my bow on my pack, thru my pack on my shoulders, looked up Just in time to see two doe running away. I can’t help but think If I just stuck it out another hour I would have had a shot.
