Be careful out there! My buddy was practicing his crossbow and forgot to take off his cocking device when he fired it one of the hooks hit him in the nose. I got a panicked phone call, he told me his crossbow blew up and there's blood all over the place. He was alone at the club we belong to so I shot down there to help him. It could have been worse, he may need a stitch or two in his nostril but he's ok.
He ended up getting 10 stitches.

Tomorrow's the big day. I wish I would have had more time to prepare but I'll be in the tree all weekend. I hope I can bring us some points this weekend. :)

    Good luck! Enjoy the outdoors!
My season starts Monday. I know what you mean, I feel prepared but there is more that I could have done.

Definitely could have been worse! Glad he's OK.
I had a d loop break on me once and I punched myself in the face so you never know when something could happen.

OHbowhunter, I was just talking about that the other day, If my d loop breaks I'm going to hit myself in the face. LOL. I've never tied one so I guess I should learn. That will be one of my goals this coming year, tying a quality d loop. The one that's on my bow right now was burned, (put on by a professional) I can tell because it's blackend. I've heard that that weakens the knot. It should be melted but not burned.

Jeff, I took opening day off just because it's the opener and I'm very excited but I'm saving most of the vacation time I have left for November. It's going to be tee shirt weather, in the 80's! Still I can't wait!!!! Did I say I was excited?

I checked my cameras on the way in. They have been showing the pattern of every day between 4-6pm for the last two weeks except two evenings hogs were in here. I've finally got a buck on cam that I'll post later tonight. Nothing big but at least I'm seeing antlers

My dads crossbow broke during our morning sit. He said just suddenly he heard cracking and looked to see his limb was splitting and he watched it get worse.

Well that piece of property I got permission on behind my work I put a camera out on lunch lol. While I was in there a 21/2 6pt and 8pt came threw on opposite ridge blowing at me. So I know there’s deer there.
