Thats the tough part, staying out in the cold weather. It could be 0* and no wind and I would be fine but you add a little wind in there and it gets to you quick. Good luck out there in the late season. I hope I can get out and put at least a deer on the ground. I will be on Christmas break here soon so that will free up some time for me to get in the woods.

Didn't make it very long in the blind this morning at a brisk -9 before windchill. At temps like this I might be done for the season boys.

Come on Kroh! I will be busting the ice off before I get down out of the tree until I get my Wall Hanger! I am dead set to get it done but only God knows what he has planned for me. You can not get one if you are at home!

Went out this morning and all I saw was a button buck. I had him at 2 yards smelling my foot steps in the snow where I put my bow on my pull up rope. One lucky little sucker!

I got all my late season stuff pretty much done today. Gonna try to get a good inventory on the surviving bucks in my area now that gun season is over.

20 yards closer and I would've had a chance to post 140 points or better. The Other Buck was on a hot doe and fighting off another smaller 8-point. So close....

Unreal!!!! I've been reviewing the footage I got today of The Other Buck. This buck already has a name....Gimp. He's got a bad right foot. He must have dislocated his right ankle or broke it when he was a younger buck. I've got footage of him from 2 years ago! I was taking my wife hunting for the first time and I saw him coming directly at us. I saw he was limping and noticed his foot was turned in badly. I told her to shoot him but he busted us and took off before she could get the muzzleloader up. I can't believe he grew a rack like that with his crippled foot, much less that he's even survived the last two years! I'm absolutely shocked! I really want to take this buck now! Just goes to show you how tough these animals are. I'll post up some raw footage from today when it's finished processing. You guys will get the first look.

A few minutes of the hours worth of footage I got of Gimp (The Other Buck). Pay attention to his right foot. There are a few instances when picks it out of the snow that you'll be able to see it's condition. I'll try to find the footage I have of him from two years ago and post that up.

That's awesome Derek! I love having history with a buck. It's way harder up here in Mi.

However last weekend one of our hunt club members saw a buck that disappeared in Late September. We named him Grable. Very surprised he made it through the gun season. Pretty sure he's a three year old. should be a cool looking buck next year.

MO bow season is over January 15. I think he was a 2.5 year old two years ago, but, he might have been a 1.5 year old. I can't really remember. I'll have to dig up the old footage to make sure. I haven't seen him in person for two years and just forgot about him. He's either 3.5 or 4.5. His body looks like a 3.5 year old but I wonder if he's slightly small due to his foot. Not sure and don't really care. I'm shooting him if I get the chance! lol

Working for me is the fact he is crippled and evidently hasn't moved out of the area in two years. Since I took Foggy out of the equation, he's way more visible. I'd imagine Foggy bullied him around pretty easily.

OK...don't laugh, but, here's an episode from my first year videoing my hunts and editing footage. I sucked bad my first year (not that I'm any good now) but it shows him in the episode at the 5:50 mark. I think he was a 1.5 year old in 2011 so he'd be 3.5 now.

That's a great video Derek! I love watching hunts that involve the family. Your wife's reaction was priceless!

Great videos! I will be heading out this morning since I am up with sinus issues. It has been a rough week with the issues and have not hunted all week. Maybe because I have not went out it stays with me. Time for it to go!

Nice videos Derek, they are better than mine. I put this together since I got done with finals I had time to put clips from my season so far, its nothing special but hopefully the next video is of me putting a deer down.

Really? Ty saw it this morning and I just checked it on my page and another browser and I can still see it.

Couple other people posted in the the thread about the video so they can see it. Not sure why you can't.
