Just got checked in to our room for the next few days. They figure tomorrow should be his birthday, could be longer since first baby. Couldn't be more excited. Since I don't have hunting to add I'll keep filling the thread with my baby ramblings.
I guess for the hunting aspect this should keep me set for rifle time so maybe after life settles ill sneak out for a late season hunt with the bow, just a thought and to keep on topic...

It's a long walk back to this spot. He left at dark and would be climbing back up before dawn. He wanted to be as quiet as possible setting up in the morning. A lot of reasons why he left everything up there. I've done it quite a few times myself. You wouldn't think someone would find and steal his stuff in the middle of the night. I may think twice about doing it again!

hello fellas. This past weekend I had a 140" at 20 yards. rattled him in. it was windy and raining all day. he snuck in on me and first saw him at 25 yards. got my bow but it turned off the tail and I couldn't get a shot. Ill be back out tomorrow and all weekend. Hope to put one down. that was my second chance this season. Hope I get one more they don't come often.

Right on Kroh! Get it done. I have been struggling in the stand lately and not liking it at all. The good thing is I am seeing deer by the chess match is not working in my favor. I am taking tomorrow morning off since my daughter is here and I have to run her to school in the morning. Washing cloths again tonight and then back at it tomorrow afternoon. I did get some good pics of another big 8 so I will post them as soon as they are done loading.

Well I have to correct myself, it is not the big 8 it is my big fella 10 pointer. Here he is as he was running across the field from my hunting spot to the park where there is NO hunting.

Not the ideal way we wanted or expected the labor to go, but at 11:55 we finally got to meet our son. I wouldn't trade this feeling for anything.

Thanks guys. He's settling in and getting to like this life. I've always loved seeing friends and family's babies but this one being mine is the greatest feeling of reward and responsibility for life.
DD, I thought babies make nice easy schedules to follow and don't disturb you if trying to rest or do something?... I hope I'm not getting bad expectations set... He's got a solid set of lungs on him too, also planning on getting used to them.

Wife is doing better too. Little rough still. Long labor and pushing to find out his head was just too big and had a c section. Pretty sore and achy, but just excited and focused on our new family member. Best pain treatment is little loving babies

Great to hear on mom getting better and both healthy! Enjoy them while they are because before you know it they are grown and out. I have 4 kids and three of the 4 are out with one coming back and out due to college.
